A small set of three Danish Neolithic Axes, dating to 3rd-4th mill BC.

Lot consist of two polished and an unpolished axe.

The larger axe is a thinbutted type from the late 4th / early 3rd mill BC. The axe is almost completely polished on all four sides, which is a scarce feature. It also has writing in pencil the side - hard to read, though.

The two other axes are thinbladed in size and design...

A pair of nicely patinated Thinbladed Danish neolithic axes dating to the Singlegrave period, 3rd mill BC.

Lot consist of an unpolished, thinbutted type, and polished thickbutted type. But the smaller size indicates, that they were for a specific purpose in Antiquity, probably for precision wood-working.

Comes with old collection tag on the grey axe.

Sizes: c. 13 - 14 cm in length.

Condition: Nice Very fine, with beautiful patinas...

A pair of rare thin-bladed Danish Danish neolithic axes dating to 3rd mill BC.

Both axes have long, slim blades and sharp edges, almost like chisels but they are axes.

One axe is fully polished on the sides, the other is unpolished. Comes with old collection tag, and finding places written on the side. (Kirke Stillinge, 1938, and Moen)

Sizes: c. 14 - 14,3 cm in length.

Condition: Nice Very fine, with beautiful orange-brown patinas...

An interesting selection of four Danish Neolithic axes, all dating to the 3rd. mill BC.

All axes are of the smaller, thinbladed type, that began to emerge and refine during the early 3rd mill. BC. Two axes / adzes with hollow edge and two nearly perfectly symmetrical. All are very nice examples of the neolithic toolbox...

An attractive large unpolished, thinbutted Danish neolithic axe dating to late 4th-early 3rd mill BC.

The axe is fully polished on the sides. The edge has been reknapped in Antiquity. Comes with old collection tag, and finding place/year witten on the side. (Kirke Stillinge, 1938)

Size: c. 20 cm. in length.

Condition: Very fine, re-sharpened in antiquity. An impressive axe with nice grey patination...

An ancient fragment of a Roman Mosaic floor, complete with poly-coloured bricks forming a nice pattern, probably Late Roman 3rd.-4th. century AD.

A very rare huge early vault or bankboks key, late 17th. century.

A massive key with a huge bit. Finely made, perhaps by a gunmaker. The hollow stem is long and fluted, and with a very large and elaborately made bit. Such a stem was a new invention for security keys in the period, making it much, much harder to copy. The bow compressed and with Gothic style decoration along the stem.

Size: Near 18 cm...

Interesting stone roundel that we're researching at the moment, don't hesitate to send us your comments.

The roundel is flat and thick and carved in white crystalized marble. The obverse depicts a general or emperor, wearing an impressive helmet of ancient style, greek or Roman. The portrait style is probably late Roman, perhaps constantinian, but we're not certain...

A very rare and large limestone sculptural head of Christ, French Scool, probably 11th. century to 12th. century, early in the period! This piece was bought in Albi and is reportedly from Tolouse.

A lovely European bronze Sun dial, carved in a fine renaissance style and dated 1635, but Victorian, English manifacture of the late 19th. century.

The sun dial very elaborate with engraved birds on either side of a Griffin center shade, with a brass spike, othervise in bronze. Inscribed with Roman numbers and dated 1635. Finely patinated in red and dark bronze and in perfect condition.

Diameter c. 16,9 cm.

A very unusually and rare early security padlock from a strongbox, probably late 16th. century.

Perfectly working lock with original brass-soldering or coppering at the base. A heavy lock with a specially produced brass and iron key with elaborate slot for the period - very rare.

Size: c. 115 mm. tall and 61 mm. wide, the key is 103 mm. long.

Condition: Superb for this period, completely intact with fine brown patina.
