Elegantly simple burnished high fired pottery cup from Warring States to Early Han Dynasty. There is one crack and a couple of chips noted in last enlargements. Pretty much to be expected from an over 2000 year old pottery piece. D:9.9cm/3.9in and H: 7cm/2.7in.

Broad redware dish rim fragment depicting a very fine and detailed shrub with berries. The relief decoration was taken from a separate mold and applied to the almost flat rim.
The fragment belongs to the rim of a large dish with a calculated diameter of ca. 39 cm (15.4 in). A groove runs along the outer edge.

Exceptional Type 10 Mezcala Figure. 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" CA. 1500-300 B.C. This very mint gray stone figure has no modern day chips or marks, it does have the classic upper top of the head fracture area. This figure has a very nice plumpness to it. It comes with a custom made black metal stand. Mineral and root marks over all.

Chinese Neolithic Painted Pottery Jar - Machang (c. 2300 - 2000 BC)

This twin-handled pottery jar was made over 4,000 years ago during the Machang Phase (c. 2300 - 2000 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is relatively highly-fired and made from a buff-coloured pottery with a smooth burnished surface. It has a wide body and two loop handles joined at the waist and upper neck...

A fine and substantial Roman terra sigillata pitcher, probably Nothern Africa, c. 4th. cent. AD.

Attractive vessel in a nice redish colour, low slung discus-shaped type, probably for wine.

Size: 16 cm. tall and 15,5 cm. wide of the fat belly.

Condition: Good Very fine, much preserved red slip and only a few tiny chips to the very rim.

Scarce and beautiful early type of pottery Oil lamp, Roman 1st.-2nd. century AD.

The lamp is of the Loeschcke Typus VIII and displays a scene with Hermes in very high relief. The lamp is stamped with a known scarce makers name: COPPI.RES

Condition: Choice and completely intact, thus rare!

Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Foreigner with Oxford TL Test

Chinese Early Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse / Pony

This attractive pottery model of a saddled horse, or pony, was made during the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). An ancient Chinese Han Dynasty earthenware cocoon jar circa 206 BC-220 AD, with traces of original hand painted design motif. Cocoon jars a name derived for its the resemblance with the shape of a silk worm cocoon. They were originally used as wine storage vessels.
