An antique Japanese Kiri Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original finish and hand made iron fittings. Two small drawers behind the small hinged door. Hidden behind the bottom small drawer is a secret pull-out box that was used to store valuables by the original Japanese owner of this chest.

This is a Jaoanese antique edo (1863) silk tyosennishiki uchishiki textile.There is discoloration and damage due to slight rubbing.They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition.

This is a rare Japanese cloisonne vase from Kato. In all my years I've come across far more signed Hayashi, Sosuke and Namikawa pieces than I have Kato. This vase has stamped silver rims and is 6 inches tall. There is no damage other than a few enamel pits. It was probably made during the 1920's.

A Japanese porcelain chawan, tea bowl, decorated with a continuous landscape. The concave foot left unglazed. The rim has a number of kintsugi, repaired chips using lacquer and gold dust.
A similar tea bowl is shown in Sekai Toji Zhenshu, Ceramic Art of the World, Vol 8. Edo Period III, no:240, described as Nakano Kiln, Hirado, mid 18th century.

A Chinese Shiwan stoneware fanghu vase with a jun glaze, late Ming/early Qing dynasty. The hollow tube handles associate this type of vase with the arrow game pastime but this example, given the small diameters involved would be unsuitable. The glaze is a transmutation glaze and its colour is decided by the kiln conditions at the peak temperature.
Shiwan (Shekwan) ceramics are from southern China, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.
