Late Meiji to early Taisho (1890s to 1920) lacquered wood netsuke representing a Gigaku theater mask of Baramon - a brahmin of the priestly Indian caste. Rather rare mask, superb quality wonderfully expressive face, lighter wood (probably ichii - Japanese yew wood), excellent use of silvery lacquer. Height 2 1/8 inches.

Exceptional "Gres Flamme" by Roger Guerin, dating from the 1920s, in perfect condition. This vase measures approximately 11" in height and 12" across at its widest. DESCRIPTION: A large antique porcelain plate, well decorated with a mythical Kylin gazing upward at a large bird perched in a pine tree. The decoration is in underglazed blue with a clear glaze containing a faint blue tint. The base is unglazed and unmarked showing the finely grained paste. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs; wood stand not included. DIMENSIONS: 11 1/4” diameter (28.5 cm) x 2 1/8" high (5.4 cm).

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Covered Paste Ink Box, 2 1/4" high with cover, 3 5/8" diameter top rim, with darker blue Double Happiness design among scrolling Vines and Sweet Peas, typical Chinese Straits Culture design. There are some firing dots but no damages.

Antique Tibetan gilt bronze Dakini, with traces of silver, inlay of coral and turquoise. In her hands are a raised kappala (or skull cup) filled with the elixir of life, and a curved blade. She is dancing on top of corpses to show her rule over ignorance and ego. Her lotus pedestal is made of gilt copper.

The Dakini are wrathful female deities often shown nude with long, flowing hair and glowering expression...
