This is an original yosegire hanjyuban made with plenty of silk katazime and silk fabrics from the Edo period. During the Edo period, silk was very expensive, so kimonos were often made without throwing away even the smallest scraps. This item uses plenty of linen thread as the basting thread. Mosaic glass pendant in the shape of a bearded head, surmounted by a large loop for attachment to a necklace. Phenicia, or Carthage, archaic period, 350 to 200 B.C. Height: 6.1 cm.
