Seto pottery, dated as early as the 13th century, produced around Seto city in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is also considered as one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan.

A very nice and rare Ming Dynasty Yongle period ( 1403 - 1425 ) bowl , decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a Lotus design. Jingdezhen ware. Diameter : 9,9 cm. H : 5,4 cm. Condition: Very nice glaze. There is a crack from the rim downwards, visible to the inside,(from the outside nearly invisible to the naked eye.)

A pair of Ming Dynasty, Chenghua Period ( 1465 - 1487 ) Wine Cups. Thinly potted porcelain cups decorated with a for Chenghua typical water-plant decoration. ( Lotus ). Nice glaze and a nice underglaze Cobalt blue. The base of the cups with a Chenghua Jingdezhen private Kiln Mark. Diameter : 6,7 cm. H : 3,4 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Nearly all the Ming Dynasty blue and white decorated covered boxes on the market are late Ming pieces of the Jiajing or Wanli period. This small, lovely coverbox is rare because it is a Ming Hongzhi period piece.( 1488 - 1505 ) Diameter : 4,6 cm. H : 3,6 cm.

Song Dynasty Qingbai covered box with floral pattern on lid and lobed sides to lid and base. Light blue overall with more pronounced blue in recessed areas on lid & base. Interior is partially glazed revealing white ware towards rim on lid and base. Note, chipping to base rim with a small hairline on inside of base eminating from chip, not apparent on outside. Wa-sarasa futonji made of cotton and dyed with pigments. Wa-sarasa is Japanese calico which is first made in Edo period immitating calico from abroad and stencil-resit dye or woodblock print. The product places were Nabeshima (Saga Pref. in Kyushu), Sakai (Osaka), Nagasaki (Kyushu) etc, however it is not clear where this futonji was made. In excellent condition. Unusual grey pottery jar from the syncretic Buddhist Dali Kingdom circa 982CE–1253CE, which was located in present day Yunnan. The Dali State was not fully absorbed into the Chinese Empire until the Ming Dynasty, although it did accept Mongol control and were by and large allowed to manage their own affairs as long as they contributed soldiers. This jar has mysterious animal appliqued faces well as Buddhist images set against peepul tree leaves (Bodhi Tree)...

Cotton Wa-sarasa produced in Kyoto, called Kyo Sarasa. The word "Sarasa" means cotton cloth with designs which are hand-painted, woodblock printed and copper plate printed, Those sarasa cloth were brought by trade from India, Europe, Persia (Iran), Java etc. in 16th and 17th century. Cotton with colorful and exotic design fascinated Japanese people, especially tea ceremony masters and rich civilians...

An Arita porcelain plate (#2) decorated with a leaping carp within a moulded border based upon Chinese Ming export porcelain, ‘Kraak’ style. The dishes have faux chattering in imitation of Wanli Kraak dishes.

A thinly potted porcelain bowl, brilliantly enamelled. Famille Rose, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ). Diameter : 14,2 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Condition : One very minute rim frit ( 0,5 mm ) and a short hairline, nearly invisible to the naked eye ( there still is a nice "ping-tone" when the bowl is tapped ).

Fine Childs Plate, the centre printed with the name John, the finely moulded border decorated with bright Pratt type colours. The base impressed ROGERS. C1840. Diameter 5 1/4" (13.4 cm). Condition: excellent, there is some staining to the underside.

Dark grey stoneware body covered with a very nice and glossy, fine Guan - crackled, quite uncommon brownish celadon glaze. Song – Yuan Dynasty ( thirteenth to fourteenth centuries ) Longquan ware, Zhejiang. Diameter : 6,4 cm. H : 6,7 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A thinly, very well potted porcelain body with a high quality underglaze blue decoration. The cobalt blue excellent. This marked Ming Minyao ( peoplesware ) bowl shows a nearly imperial quality. Jiajing period ( 1522 - 1566 ) Jingdezhen ware. Diameter : 12,1 cm. H : 6,4 cm. Condition : One glaze chip to the rim and one chip to the unglazed foorting. Very nice tone when tapped.
