This ceramic bowl was produced in France by Longwy in the late 19th century. It is not signed, but the workmanship and style of the bowl are characteristic of the Longwy factory. It measures 5 1/4 inches across the top and 3 1/4 inches high. The bowl is 3-lobed and stands on 3 little feet. The ground color is a deep cobalt blue. There are pink and blue carnations with foliage surrounding the entire bowl. All of the decoration is incised and colored with bright enamels...

This porcelain place card holder was produced in Italy by Capodimonte in the late 19th century. It is 3 3/4 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. The back is molded like branches into a tripod. The front has naked putti in high relief, making mischief. They are hand painted. Condition: Excellent

A small blue and white Chinese stem dish, 19th century. In excellent condition, thick unctuous glaze and nice form. This would make a nice ring or jewelry dish! It measures 4" across by 2" high.

A small celadon bottle vase, decorated to the body with iron-brown spots and rising with spiral form neck. Northern Song period. Condition is good without any damaged and no restoration as well except minor glaze degradations because found from the river.Size:9,5cm high.

AN ELEGANT CHINESE PAKTONG TOBACCO PIPE, 19THC

The pipe looks a little like yellow brass in some pictures but this is a result of recent tarnishing, perhaps I should have polished it a little before taking the photographs. The base has an engraved inscription. 19th century I suspect. Especially nice is the cloud collar and the subtle shape of the base, almost peach-shape in section.

This heavy wooden pillow was hand carved from a block of hard wood. A relic of the Qing dynasty during the 1800's, it would have been used more as a head rest, i.e. supporting the back of the neck so that the hair style remained undisturbed. It is carved into a series of graceful curved forms and the finish has a wonderful pattern of wear and patina. 11.5 inches x 4 x 3.25 weight 2 lbs

Exterior is covered in black lacquer with silver rims encircling both the bottom and lid. The interior of the lid is decorated in very finely-painted gold and silver lacquer with a scene of fish swimming among seaweed. A small rectangular red lacquer signature in seal form is seen on the left margin of the painting. The base of the box is also signed by the artist in gold lacquer. A lovely and cute Japanese pickle relish dish dated to the late Meiji period (1868-1912). The type is known as geisha ware due the subject matter so wonderfully represented. It is further without chips, cracks, or any damage whatsoever. It measures 9" long x 3.25" wide.

A very good Classic Period glass paperweight with a pinchbeck design. The scene depicts the "Descent from the Cross" and shows two centurions, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus taking the body from the cross while Mary weeps at Jesus' feet. The pinchbeck insert is finished in a silver tone rather than the more common gold. The crystal dome is of very good quality, with excellent clarity and good optical magnification to highlight the detail of the scene...

A molded clay Buddha image encased in a lacquered wood shrine with a gilded interior. A small bronze ring on top allows attachment to the obi sash of an individual's kimono. There are some losses to the lacquer normal wear from use and handling. Acquired in Japan in the early 1970s.

Classic Japanese Mingei folk art figure probably from a Buddhist altar or rural roadside Shinto shrine. The forearms are missing. It is darkened from incense and candle smoke. Acquired in Japan in the early 1970s.

This porcelain two piece stamp box was produced in France by Tressemann & Vogt in the 1890s. The box is 4 1/4 inches long, 2 3/4 inches wide and 3 inches high, including the handle. The box has the artist’s initials on the bottom. The porcelain blank was sold white ware and decorated by a studio artist. There are three compartments inside the box to hold stamps. The ground color shades from mint green to almost white. There are vibrantly colored roses tumbling across the top of the box...

A beautiful early Kangxi wucai enameled tankard. Decorated with a design of different types of chrysanthemums and pendant lotus petals painted in iron red on either side of basket weave borders and flower cell borders. Silver mounted around 1750. Acquired in London. Condition. Very good condition. Small glaze ship at the foot ring. No further restoration or damage. Measurement: Hight 14 cm = 5.5 in weight 425 gram

Striking large Japanese ceramic Tokoname jar, wonderful irregular shape, large kiln fragments, thick ash glaze with unusual subtle blue and yellow striations, Momoyama Period (1573-1615). (The Tokoname Kiln is considered one of the "6 Ancient Kilns" and was located at Tokoname on the Chita Peninsula, bordering Ise Bay.)
