It is 52 inches (132 cm) in length by 14.3 inches (36.5 cm) wide.
It has loose and pulling of threads, stains, frayed silk, tears, discoloration, and surface wears (as seen in the photos).

Daimyo hikeshi shozoku: Samurai firefighter's wool jacket with a silk velvet collar; the crest and design are couched with gold leaf thread (wrapped around silk thread), chest protector and belt. Excellent, clean condition with some holes and damages in velvet collar. Late Edo period (1603-1868), 50" wide x 39" long, Chest protector, 25 1/4" long.

Fairly large zushi hand shrine in the shape of a lotus petal. Double sided, made of sandalwood.
Inside each half is a deep relief carving of Buddhist deities. On one side the three-eyed Aizen Myoo with a lion crown, sitting on a lotus base in the clouds before a red mandorla. His six hands hold Vajra and ghanta, bow and arrow, and lotus bud and pouch. On the other side the two-armed Kannon bosatsu, holding a lotus bud in the left hand, sitting on a lotus base in the clouds...
Quadrangular kobako box decorated with flowers in gold and blue lacquer with aogai inlay. Lid and sides in fundame lacquer, underside and interior in nashi-ji lacquer. Inside, a removable tray with gold fundame borders. Fitted with two gripping rings.

An antique Japanese Wood Buddhist altar fitting known as a keman. The hand fan like shape were thought to have originated from flower garland offerings seen in India. The keman is decorated with motifs of lotuses with two apsaras. The top of the keman has the crest of the Tokugawa family. Age: Edo Period 17/18th century, Size: Length 25" Height 9.5" Width 1.5"
A cast bronze vase. Finely executed. The finish is nice, made with a lathe and a scraper. Very elegant decoration of chains and tassels inlaid in gold and silver. At the neck a frieze of stylized dragons.

Rather unusual late 18th to early 19th century Japanese bronze temple decoration fixture of a tennin - a female buddhist angel - as it flies playing a Shu - Japanese musical instrument from a flute group used in Shinto ceremony and consisting of bamboo reeds forming a circular wind chamber. Wonderful design, beautiful flow of her billowing scarves, gilded highlights, great patina. Very well cast, pleasantly heavy, peg on the back for fixing it to a temple or pedestal wall. Length 6 inches.

Hand shrine, or zushi, in the shape of a lotus bud, carved in two halves. On the inside, on one side the standing figure of Amida Nyorai on a lotus base, his hands in mudra. The other half of the lotus bud is decorated with a mutsume pattern (imitating a triaxial weaving) in kirikane (very thin strips of gold foil). Japan, Edo period, early 19th century.
Very light, soft wood. On the outside red lacquer, covered with leaf gold, that is partly rubbed off again...
Finely cast bronze censer on three cloud-shaped feet with a décor on the body of an elephant on one side, a baku or tapir on the other on a background of very fine repetitive fretwork, patinated in a rich brown. Stick-like handles parallel to the body. Bottom left undecorated, with a seal: Seimin sei (Cast by Seimin). Japan, Edo period, early 19th century.

The bronze is very thick yellow, the casting is made in several parts, the arms are cast separately and welded, the ribbons too. The finish is very neat. The old patina is beautiful. The base is cast separately, the walls are thin unlike the statue, but it is indisputable that the two were made together. On the base and at the bottom of the statue are incised characters that date it. I do not know what the exact time is, but I can do research on request.

Small box of drawers in gold and silver lacquer background imitating tortoise shell. The decor is composed of volutes and phoenixes in light relief (Taka Maki-e) of gold and silver powders, mosaic detail of inlaid solid gold and silver tiny squares (kirikane). By transparency one distinguishes under the tortoiseshell the reflections of gold leaf. The fittings are finely chiseled with volutes. There is one phoénix by panels, inside some Mon are on the drawers.

Chinese hard porcelain dish with an elegant scalloped shape, decorated in famille rose enamels with 5 dragons competing for the sacred pearls. The vigorous dragons are very well drawn, their contortions are harmonious. They only have 4 claws. The marli is decorated with a Greek frieze enamelled in a pretty bright blue. The Greeks could indicate a European order, but the central, typically Chinese decoration of the 5 dragons circumscribed in a circle is more reminiscent of an order for the Chines...
Late 18th to early 19th century small fine white jade plaque / pendant with pierced and carved design of a Chinese scholar wearing a wide robe and standing on rockery. Beautiful material, true white nephrite jade, wonderful work, in perfect condition. Height 1.26 inches, weight 4.2 grams.
Rare Chinese hat in silk, silver and gold kesi. Built like a melon with 6 pieces of sewn kesi. The ponpon is original in silk and silver.
Excellent quality the points are tight and thick for more strength. The decor is extremely rare, it is made up of assembled cubes. From memory I remember having seen on an imperial porcelain a similar cubic decoration, it was specified that they were stylized dragons.
