Pair of early 19th century Japanese sword menuki each depicting a samurai with a weapon in different attitudes: one is wielding a sword, the other a naginata (a machete on a wooden shaft). Wonderful work, bronze with silver inlays and gilding, slight wear, in great condition. Length 1 1/16 inches.

A tall elongated squared baluster form vase with vertical flanges to the corners and lion mask handles to the neck. Decorated with Taotie panels to the body and smaller lingzhi panels to the neck possibly cast and chiselled and parcel gilding. A scarce scarce Mesopotamian Bifacial tablet seal in greenish black stone, Mesopotamia, ca. 4th.-3rd. millenium BC.

The seal predynastic and very interesting in that it has a double image of stylized scorpions and a labyrint.

A pair of antique Japanese mixed metal candlesticks made of bronze and silver. The base of the tall candlestick has elephant trunks as legs. The top portion has reliefs of birds in foliage and a dragonfly on lotus leaves. The shorter candlestick has similar reliefs of birds and a dragonfly.
