Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese buffalo horn kushi (hair comb) with lacquer decoration of blooming peonies. Very well made, good lacquering in subtle colors, wonderful work in Japanese taste, some old stable peeling to lacquer. Length 3.4 inches.

A lid for an urn vase, coffee or chocolate brown glaze with Famille rose enamels in leaf-shaped reserves. Chinese so-called Batavia or Capuciner brown ware, early 18th century. Diameter 3¼" / 8 cm, the inner rim to fit a vase or urn opening with a diameter of 1½" / 3,9 cm or more. Condition: fine.
