Chinese Qing dynasty incense burner bronze censer. Xuande mark. 12,5 cm mouth rim diameter. 18 cm wide from handle to handle. 6,7 cm high. censer has been cleaned and has smooth dent ( please see at the pictures ) no crack, no repair.

The subject represents Daruma coming back from deep trance in which he sat meditating without moving for 9 years. Skillfully carved out of chosen matsu (Korean pine wood) in ittobori (one cut) style characteristic of Hida school of netsuke carvers with clever use of wood grain as element of design. Japanese green Glass Ojime, 3/4" diameter, large holes on tops and the bottom where cord go through to tightening for Netsuke. There are some indentations on the glass surface.

An intact and attractive pottery bowl, 9th.-10th. century AD.

The bowl decorated with stylized caligraphy in green-brown on a beige ground.

Size: 12,8 cm. wide and 5 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice, original glaze, perhaps a chip restored, but difficult to spot.

Decorated with painted designs of dragons, lingzhi and scrolling vines in red-orange overglaze standing out against a dramatic black ground. A cup and saucer and an additional cup, all three with overglaze iron red landscapes and houses in European style. China, c 1800 or earlier. Diameter of saucer "5 ½ / 14 cm, height of cups "2 / 5 – 5.2 cm. Condition: cups with rim chips, the back of the saucer with a hairline.

Chinese small ceramic water coupe, the interior and outer body with thick grey crackle glaze, the dark brown clay body exposed where the glaze drips end. The short, rounded form has a ribbed body and slightly flared, wide mouth. Possible Guan Ware c15th century.
