This bowl features an underglaze band of semi-circles around the outer rim bordered with sparsely placed auspicious Buddhist Wheels of Law and clusters of circle dots on the lower portion of the outer wall. 17th Century Tibetan Arhat Thangka, 36 x 26 inches, 91.5 x 66 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.

A spectacular and intricately detailed painted Japanese Satsuma Koro. The painted features display Buddhist monks surrounded by an encircling phoenix on either side, beautifully gilted and accented with flowers and four legs that sport foo dog faces. Antique temple banner consisting in a long sort of ribbon made of paper on which a series of religious scenes showing Taoist gods and chimeras are hand painted with polychrome pigments. The banner is around 10 m long by 27 cm high, and is affixed to a wood stick on both sides. The piece is signed Zheng Fa and dated Xian Feng 6 (1855). It is coming from the South West region of China, and was painted by an artist who was a member of the Yao ethnic minority...

Unusual Japanese Kiri wood stacking box, comprised of 9 shallow compartments for the storage of calligraphy implements. The edges of each compartment are reinforced with hand-forged iron plates. The lowermost compartment has a single pull out drawer with a kakute iron pull and lock.

Antique Chinese large cloisonne censer. Standing on 3 legs, the round body of the censor has two large wing like handles, a tall neck, and is topped with a domed lid. 4 pierced characters around the lid allow for incense smoke and a seated fu-dog acts as a finial and lid handle. Everything but the fu-dog finial and parts of the side handles is covered with cloisonné enamel. The most dramatic portion of the design is the large fu-dogs amidst exuberant peony blossoms...

Finely carved mask representing a demon, with expressive features, a protruding forehead bearing a third eye, protruding eyes, beaked nose, open mouth showing teeth. Wood, with remnants of polychrome painting. China, Qing Dynasty, early 19th century or earlier. Height: 23 cm. The mask,is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Old accidents and insect infestations (no danger), otherwise good condition. A very rare piece.

Antique Japanese lacquer suzuribako decorated with a pair of deer in raden (shell inlay) and lead on a black lacquer ground. The box opens to reveal a writing set including a lacquered copper rectangular water dropper, an ink stone with brush rests on either side against a background of black lacquer with Rinpa style gold maki-e designs of curling plant fronds.

Pair of Japanese Meiji Period Wood Kitchen Gods, Daikoku and Ebisu. 8 inches, 20 cm and 7.5 inches, 19 cm. Daikoku, God of Earth and Agriculture, stands on bales of rice and wields his magic mallet. Ebisu, God of Ocean and Prosperity, holds a large red sea bream tucked under his arm. This fish is an ancient symbol of good luck in Japan. Daikoku and Ebisu often appear together in the Japanese kitchen...
