A pair of strictly mueum quality German Wheel lock pistols, made for a German Prince for his personal guard, probably Saxony, late 16th. century.
The pistols are huge and at the same time very elegant with their slender form and lavishly inlaid with engraved staghorn compricing of of huntings scenes with dogs and game, and highly delicate folliage overall. Interestingly, there's different scenes of hunting on each pistol, while the folliage inlays are matching...
Very rare pair of pottery bears. The meaning of bears of during Han Dynasty is somewhat enigmatic, as they are “everywhere” in their material culture i.e., bronze, jade and pottery, but what they signify remains unexplained. Usually they are depicted in a friendly almost cute Winnie the Pooh (ish) fashion, lacking in ferocity like dragons and tigers. Only during the Han did they reach such ubiquity. Both have an amber colored vitreous glaze and appeared to be mostly hand carved...

4 elements of a dragon in embossed copper or bronze and hot-gilded with mercury. 2 or 3 elements must be missing. The dragon's legs have 4 claws which would seem to exclude imperial affiliation, however the monumental size of more than 5 to 6 meters long would indicate an order for a temple or for the palace of an important person. You have to imagine the golden dragon writhing on an immense panel of dark wood carved with flames and clouds...
A Korean, floral-form, moulded brush from the Goryeo dynasty; C12th. Delicately potted with incised decoration to give the impression of a lotus leaf. Covered over-all with a thin celadon glaze, except for the remnants of three kiln supports to the outer base. A beautiful item for the Scholar's desk.

Condition; with a well executed Kintsugi repair to the rim. A couple of abrasions to the glaze on the rim.
Lovely pottery small lead glazed stove from the Eastern Han Dynasty (202 BCE – 220 CE). There is original flaw in one of the pots on top and a minor glaze chip on the upper edge but otherwise excellent condition with a lot of lead glazed silver paraffin patina on the whitish surface. See last enlargement for reference from He Li’s Chinese Ceramics. L: 25.cm/9.8in, W: 18.5m/7.2in and H: 9.5cm/3.8 in. Excellent example of how people cooked 2000 years ago in China.

Museum piece. Inscripted on the bell are two dates: Kiei 4 (ca. 1851) and Meiji 28 (Ca. 1895) along with donor names. We are not sure why there are two dates. Also written,it is from Gyoshin-ji Temple in Omi no Kuni which is the Edo Period Ca. (1614-1868) name for present day Shiga Prefecture next to Kyoto. Also written is "prayers for peace donor group founded by Kuzan Gyoin, a monk. Excellent condition and sound.
