This gourd cricket cage is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 4 ½” long and 2” wide from the top. The rim and lid were made of ivory and carved hard wood. A gourd is grown inside a carved wooden form(s) to create a patterned or shaped body. This cage does not have pattern or design but has a very nice balanced, shaped and light brown body. The ivory rim and lid are in great condition as well. There are no repairs, chips or crack lines.

DESCRIPTION: A finely carved celadon nephrite jade plaque, one side depicting a child attendant with crane holding a large fan over the head of an immortal. Three lines of raised calligraphy are on the reverse. Excellent condition, late 19th or early 20th century, Qing Dynasty. DIMENSIONS: 2" long (5 cm) x 1 3/4" wide (7 cm).

A scarce 18th Century U-shaped bowl decorated with iron red and very finely painted "famille rose" enamels depicting the Bajixiang - the Eight Buddhist Treasures - between key-fret and ruyi bands. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) and is of the period. A Chinese porcelain Guanyin statue from 18th century, Yongzheng or Qianlong period. The statue was once modified to be a lamp, and now is still glued on the lamp base. Chinese ceramic Buddha, circa 1900-1930 (Qing – Early Republic). The iconography is quite unusual there is a seated Buddha image on the chest, standing Buddha image on the back, and another image of the Buddha in Parinirvana reclining pose.
