Ca. 1500s - 1600s
This incense-burner was cast with Mongolian script encircling body and has two handles with lion masks. It is raised on a slightly flaring footring and a slightly convex base showing wear and an old original surface with a mottled brown patina. The Bombay form rises to end in a flattened rim displaying evidence of long, continued use. The grayish-bronze interior shows its use as an incense burner. An old crack is visible to the head of one handle.

An extremely rare one of the kind early Ming longquan celadon warmer bowl with open work, rounded side with open work and glazed base, warmer decorated with flower and rock motif at the center, outer wall with open work of flower motif, covered with bluish green glaze.
