Tang Dynasty Changsha ware bowl.( 9th century ) Stoneware body decorated with a calligraphic floral motive in brown and green under a yellow ash glaze. Changsha type Henan. Found in a shipwreck near Belitung island, Palembang, Sumatra. D : 6 inc. Some glaze corroded.
Ming Dynasty Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) blue and white bowl. Very nice glaze and kobalt blue. The waterplant design on the inside of the bowl reminds on the typical waterplant desing of the earlier Chenghua pieces.
Nice condition - no cracks, repaired rim fritting at one part of the rim which is viseable at enlargement 6.

A rare Song dynasty longquan celadon conical shape washer, rounded side with inward rim and unglazed base, washer decorated with raising lotus petal motif at the exterior, covered with deep green glaze.
Washer is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, good porcelain with ping sound with finger tip.

From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, a very high quality 19th century ginger jar done in the "1000 Antiques" design against a "cracked ice" ground, either Tongzhi (1862-1874) or Guangxu Period (1875-1908). One could be forgiven for thinking this piece is Kangxi (1662-1722) given the high quality of the paste, the high quality of the underglaze cobalt blue, and the proficiency of the painting. This is a southern Song dynasty (1131 - 1276 A.D) yingqing or qingpai covered bowl in a sea green glazed. It stands on a short recessed glazed footrim and then everted into a straight U-shaped bowl with unglazed rim. The inside of the bowl is also glazed with yingqing sea green colour. On the body of the bowl, it is incised with lotus petal shaped overlapping one another. The cover of the bowl is also incised with overlapping lotus petals with a rounded finial on the top...
