Ca. 1700s / early 1800s

Used as a container for red cinnabar seal paste, intended for use on a scholar's table. There are a few minor firing flaws. The lid fits rather loosely. Overall good condition with some remnants of red seal paste. Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1960s.

A large ovoid Chinese Martavan (aka Martaban) jar from the 16th/17th century. (Martavan jars were produced in China's southern region and shipped, via the port of Martabanin present day Myanmar, to various neighboring countries as storage containers for various commodities...these storage vessels became prized possessions by the local peoples.) The jar has a lovely honey brown colored glaze with bold dragon relief motif and loop handles around the shoulder...

A blue and white octagonal plate, Qianlong period, of flat shape with sharp cut and brown-glazed rim. Decoration of flowers, rock and a willow tree surrounded by a Kanghsi type border. Diameter "8½ to 9¼/ 21,5 to 22,5 cm. Condition: rim frits and glaze imperfections as shown on photos, otherwise fine.

A tea bowl or maybe, rather, a wine bowl. The front with the combined crest of two families from the rural nobility, one is symbolized by a harrow, the other by a bunch of grapes. The back with the intertwined initials of the families joined together in marriage, surrounded by vines and grapes. China, mid or late 18th century. Diameter "3¼/ 8 cm, height "1¾/ 4,5 cm. Condition: a very small glaze flake to the mouth rim.

Chinese Qing Dynasty scroll painting by the artist, Jiang Ting-xi (1669-1732). Ink on silk, hanging scroll. The painting represents lotus flower behind its huge leaf. Signed “Nansha Lao Ren Jiang Ting-xi” by the artist, with one signature seal of the artist. Three collectors’ seals on the right side. Re-mounted by the previous owner. Excellent condition.

This is a Qing Dinasty, 18th Century, with a Circular, Bulbous, tapering towards the bottom form Yellow Jade snuff bottle, with sloping shoulders, rounded short neck, and flat oval footing. Its background is yellow, but it also has shades of light brown (burnt), beige and nebulous with stripe forms of white colors. It also has a couple of natural lines that meet in a porous area in one of its sides...

Kangxi Period (1662-1722) Chinese Blue and White Porcelain tea or liquor cup depicting slender ladies dancing "Long Elizas". Size: 6 cm. diameter x H. 3.5 cm. Nice condition, high resonance when tapped, tiny rim chips (flea bites), otherwise no hairlines, cracks nor repairs.

18th Century Chinese White Jade Carved Dragon Plaque on Enamel Box

The box is 2.4 inches (6 cm) tall by 3 inches (7.7 cm) wide and 7.5 inches (19 cm) in length. The jade is 2 inches (5 cm) wide by 3.5 inches (9 cm) in length. It is 1.5 lb.

The box is tarnished and has missing enamels, enamel cracks, and surface wears and scratches...

The flower basket motif is generally associated with symbolizing longevity and abundance, but sometimes its association with one of the most enigmatic and eccentric of the Eight Immortals, Lan Caihe, is overlooked. Lan Caihe was actually the patron saint of florists whose distinguishing attribute is the flower basket...

White blanc de Chine foo dog in early Kangxi. Measurement. Hight 15.8 cm = 6.2 in. Condition: Poor condition. Ball missing under the foo dog's right foot. Applications is partly missing. still this is a good reference as a study object and worthy a restoration.

A pair of colorful kingfisher birds fly amidst the blossoming branches of a white peony bush and delicate sprays of white and yellow daisies Painted in ink and mineral colors on silk. There is calligraphy and a signature with seal in the upper left hand side.
