A Chinese bronze seal in the style of Han Dynasty, but probably made in the period of late Qing Dynasty. Please refer enlargements for condition. Approx. 1-3/8"X1-3/8"X1".

Description:

A Yaozhou covered jar was in fantastic look.
It was well carved with floral motifs on the surface.
In characteristically yellowish green tint of the glaze, the ware was revealed with the also characteristic beige body clay.
Obvious incursions were happened to the glaze in foggy look.
One manufacturing defect was found at the foot ring.
Otherwise, it was in perfect condition without any restorations,.

Date: Jin Dynasty, 11th/12th century...

This rare Chinese bamboo and jade opium pipe is a mid 19th century product. It is composed of a metal alloy fitting decorated with small pieces of jade and tourmaline as the “saddle”. The two ends of the bamboo are decorated with jadeite. It is 23” long and 1” in diameter. Aside from an age crack and some scratches on the bamboo, it is in good condition.

Antique Chinese wardrobe cabinet, made with nice hardwood paneling and inlaid with light boxwood carved scenes depicting scholarly figures in a garden like setting with animals in the trees, calligraphy inlaid on upper portion of each door panel, 19th century. A very finely carved oval-shaped white jade falconer's plaque depicting a five-clawed dragon amongst scrolling foliage. This item was probably made in China in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). Condition - very good - there are two chips to the reverse side (please see enlargement 2), no further damages or losses...

A fine turquoise ground famille rose jar, wood cover and stand. The vase decorated with flowering lotus on a turquoise ground. The base unglazed. 19thC. Height 20.9cm, with wooden cover 23.0cm. Condition: perfect, no cracks, chips or restoration.

Chinese Famille Rose Punch Bowl decorated with storks among lotus, the reverse with a peony spray. The interior with a lotus spray. Qianlong C1750/70. Diameter 24.0cm. Condition: perfect, no chips, cracks or restoration.

With very fine gold thread embroidery on both sides and the original strings with glass beads. China, 19th century. Measurements: H.8 cm, W.11,5 cm. Excellent condition.

The glasses made of smoky crystal. Minor chips to the tortoiseshell, some of the metal hinges have been replaced in the old days. Very good condition considering the age. China, late 19th century. Width 13, 5 cm. H. 5 cm.

Chinese agate girdle clasp, also called "sui" in Chinese. I am uncertain about the date of it, but do believe that it should be from Qing Dynasty or earlier. It is in good condition with russet streaks. 2-3/8" X 1-1/8" X 1/2".

These rare early 19th century ceramic bowls are 2 ½” high and 6” in diameter. They depict four mythical sea creatures resting on rocks surrounded by ocean waves. The background and inside are turquoise blue. There are red “Dao Guang” (1821~1850) marks on the bottoms. Some gold edging has rubbed off from the ribbed rims. Aside from this, they are in excellent condition.

This Shou Shan stone carving of Zhang Guo (or Kuo) Lao is a mid 19th century product. It depicts a seated Zhang Guo Lao. In his left hand, he is carrying his emblem Yu Gu (or Ku) or fish drum which is a tube-shaped bamboo drum with two iron rods. His right hand is resting on his knee. There is a straw hat hanging on his back. The statue is 4 ½” high, 3 ¼” wide (from the bottom) and 2” thick. The carved wood base is not included. The carving is simple and elegant...

Blanc De Chine group of two seated men playing weiqi, watched by a standing attendant. Beneath overhanging pine branches infront of an openwork grotto. Kangxi C1690. Height 9.8cm. Condition: chips and damage to three applied flowers, hand missing from seated figure on the left.

 

 

Chinese Blue and White Vase with tall foot and long neck. The lobed body decorated with alternating panels of Long Elizas and flowers growing in jardinaires. Kangxi C1700. Height 11.5cm. Condition: perfect, no frits, chips, cracks or restoration.

Fine Chinese Armorial Famille Rose Tankard decorated with the Coat of Arms of Slade (or Slader) impaling Foote, below a grisaille border. See Howard, "Chinese Armorial Porcelain" L1, where he states that this was probably a Cornish family. C1750. Height 12.6cm. Condition; minute frit to handle, two small shallow chips 0.3 and 0.4 cm to edge of flared foot. 0.6cm glaze crack to surface of handle.

A Yuan dynasty longuan celadon stemcup, rounded side with high foot globular body and everted rim, inner center stemcup decorated with flower motif, stemcup covered with good bluish green celadon glaze.
Stemcup is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, there is some crackled at glaze surface, one crackled glaze goes to the rim good ping sound with the finger tip indicate there is no crack on the body.
size: 10.5 cm height, 12 cm diameter.

 

A good sample of Ming Wanli period blue and white bottle vase, rounded side with lobbed body and raising tall neck, bottle decorated with under glaze blue of mandarin ducks, birds and flowery motif. newly excavated from Banten area west java, very good sample for any one who interested into studying Chinese porcelain.
Both bottle vase is in broken condition as its found and restruck.
Size: each bottle vase is in 20 cm height.

A rare shards sample of Yuan dynasty blue and white cover box, cover box is decorated with good under glaze cobalt blue, there is good sample drawing of lotus and peony motif. this cover box is very good for studying and comparison for any one who interested in studying early Chinese porcelain, excavated from trowulan east java. size: 12 cm diameter.

Famille Verte plate decorated in the centre with a bird perched on a flowering magnolia branch. Kangxi C1700. Dia. 21.3cm. Condition; some fritting to the rim. No cracks, chips or restoration.

This brilliantly enamelled dish belongs to the same kind as the dish listed before ( # 396 ). However, this one is much more thinly potted, and its decoration, with a Phoenix in the center, is executed even more lavishly than on # 396. A very richly decorated Famille Noire jar. ( Famille Noire is actually Famille Verte with a black background.) There is not only a pair of peacocks, there are also cranes, ducks and flying birds and a lot of Lotus flowers and plants. Apocryphal underglaze blue Ming mark. Probably 19th. century or older. On the base of the jar is an old inventory Number which probably indicates that the piece comes from an old German collection. H : 26,8 cm. Condition : Perfect

Antique Chinese fine and extremely ornate carved altar cabinet with mother of pearl inlay, pierced carved with dragons in swirling clouds, center panel with family of three fu-dogs, claw feet, mother of pearl scenes of figures, flowers and buddhist symbols, bone carved details, sides carved with flowers in vases, hardwood, 18th/ 19th century. Total size: 43" high (40 1/4" high to table top) x 52 1/2" wide x 20 1/2" deep (18" deep table top).

Five dynaties yue "MISE" bowl with lotus pattern outside wall. 17,8cm diameter. Bowl has three short hairlines and views small chipped at the rim. No restorations.

With an unusual dark blue and turquoise glaze. The woman with an unusual hairdo. H. 34 cm (the man), 31 cm (the woman). Condition: no damage or repair. parts of the soil can easily be removed to obtain a more colorful glaze.

The brilliantly enamelled peach decoration on this bowl is absolutely superb and the fact that this bowl bears a rare iron red Shengdetang mark is an additional enhancement concerning the importance of this Famille Rose decorated bowl. Qing Dynasty Daoguang Period ( 1821 - 1850 ) Diameter : 16,1 cm. Condition : Actually perfect with no crack or chip and with a nice sound when tapped. This leaf shaped Chinese late 19th century blue and white serving dish is 7 ¾” long, 4 ¾” at its widest part and 1 ¾” high. The blue and white floral design covers the side and the rim. There are five small feet on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

A twin-handled bronze censer. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Xuande emperor (1426-1435) but this item was made later, possibly during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). This censer is from the collection of a British architect who was born in China and lived in Shanghai. It came to the UK with him in 1931...
