This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds. Aside from some natural flaws in the stone, it is in excellent condition.

The " counterpart " to the larger jar ( item # 1077671, Stock # 320 ) excavated at the same location at Central Sulawesi and also offered by us. Artist signature and seal by Li Fang Yin (1696–1755), known as one of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou. Inscription reads "Qianlong 8th Year, third month, Li, Fangying of Qingjiang". An Yixing stoneware teapot bearing a rare seal "Li Bang Shui Ji" - which might be a retailers mark. There is a single hole inside the spout. A well carved yellow ground jar, with cover, depicting two confronting dragons amongst clouds and flames above breaking waves. A rare sample of Yuan dynasty blue and white square jar, jar decorated with under glaze blue of flower motif at each side (chrysanthemum, lotus, peony, Indian lotus). at the top there is two dragon motif around the rim, unglazed base, jar has broken damage part and res truck no missing part, please see picture detail, found from excavation site in trowulan east java, very good for any one who interested into studying early Chinese porcelain.

Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil. To the inside of the piece there still are remainders of the former very attractive oilspot decoration. Jian Kilns, Fujian or Henan province, 12th - 13th century. Excavated in Indonesia.
