A large deep bowl with bulls eye base decorated with a Kraak fuyo-de style pattern to the interior and exterior with the central mikomi decorated within a classic Chinese landscape with the figure of the Chinese poet Lin Bu contemplating a small gnarled tree, presumably a Mountain plum, upon a rocky outcrop...

Black lacquer box decorated with butterflies and flowers in red, green and yellow lacquer. Detail in powdered gold lacquer and kirikane (small gold square.) Curiously there are only 2 elements in yellow lacquer, a butterfly and a flower. No signature. Good condition, no restoration...

A framed Woodblock from the Series "SANJUROKUKASEN" by TOSHIKATA MIZUNO (1866-1908), BIJINA (Oban, date 1893, MEIJI ERA)"TEAHOUSE WITH RAINHATS" depicting a young and beautiful woman of the Kan'ei Era (1624-44) wearing a red kimono and standing at the entrance of a rural teahouse/inn with 2 playing dogs in the background; from the series 36 Elegant Selections (Amigasa chaya, Kan'ei koro fujin). 3 straw hats from guests are suspended at the entrance for drying. This child with a pleasant face happily rides his toy horse, the horse looking just as pleased. The entirety is a porcelain sake server from the Saga region on the southern Island of Kyushu, home to Imari, Hirado and other porcelain ware. A bung of black persimmon wood has been added as a lid in the shape of a Chinese hat. It is 21 x 12 x 21 cm (8 x 4-3/4 x 8 inches) and in overall fine, original condition, dating from the 19th century.

An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (stacking Kimono chest) in 3 sections made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware including the Warabite style handles and the Uchide no Kozuchi (lucky treasure hammer) sliding door pulls. Top section includes the 2 sliding doors with 3 side by side drawers below. Opening the doors reveals a split level shelf and a small drawer for hair ornament storage...

Japanese antique ranma (transom) to be hung over a doorway, beautifully carved with the image of a large phoenix in flight, its many tail feathers billowing gracefully around it. Size: 16" height, 48" length, 6" width

Antique Japanese porcelain kogo (incense box). Round in form and flat on top. Glazed with a lovely crackled white ground and two blue butterflies, one on the lid and one on the side where the two pieces join. Signed "Taisuiken" on the inside of the lid. With original tomobako.

This early 19th century Japanese Imari vase is 10 ½ inches high and 4 ½ inches on the widest part. The top of the vase had been cut and polished. Two peony blossoms were painted over the lower part. Three small circles on the upper were painted pine, plum blossom and bamboo. It has a green “Fuku – Happiness” mark on the bottom. Aside from some faded color due to its age, it is in great condition.

This is a very special example of Japanese Cloisonne. The workmanship and elegant form are what makes this piece so special. This vase was acquired from one of the world's greatest cloisonne collections. It measures 12 inches tall. Great overall condition but it does has a very tiny enamel flake (See last image) on the back shoulder and minor pitting. It is not signed.

Very rare cast bronze sculpture of the Chinese monk Xuanzang with a pile of Buddhist scriptures rolled up and stacked in the pack on his back and a lotus leaf over his head from which dangles an incense burner, as he returns to China from India.
In his hands he was holding a scroll and a fly whisk that are now missing. Figure stands on an irregularly shaped base. Japan, mid Edo period, 18th century.

Very rare large hexagonal plate. Turtles and cranes as the symbol of longevity in Japan are depicted with color and gold, it's very gorgeous. Size: 42.2cm(D) 4.0cm(H)

Storage jar with beautiful dark brown glaze drippings from the neck and shoulder down, over a dark brown stone ware with countless inclusions. Around the neck engraved with cross pattern. Shape somewhat distorted. Height 11 inches, width 10 inches. Two short cracks at the rim, one small chip at the rim, glaze partly rubbed due to extensive usage. Overall condition good. Japan 18/19th century.

A wonderful Meji Period Japanese cloisonne vase with an array of flowers on a pale green ground featuring a silverised metal basket weave. Height: 7 inches, 18 cm.

Massive Japanese Meiji period Kyoto Satsuma earthenware deep scalloped rim bowl with 17 lobes densely painted on the interior and exterior with a profusion of gilt and enamel flowers. Four-character Kinkozan tsukuru mark with Shimazu crest to the base. Very heavily potted (weighs over 8 lbs.). Dates circa 1890 - 1910. 11 7/8” diameter by 7” high. Nicely carved wood stand included. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs...
