A wonderful boxwood carved netsuke of five turtles climbing on top of each other. Intricate details can be seen throughout, creating a very realistic form. Each turtle has little black eyes. The large turtle on bottom has retreated into his shell and has the artist's signature delicately carved into his belly "Senzan".

These very well painted “egg shell” quality Kutani dishes are 19th century products. They are 8 ¼” in diameter. They have ribbed rims decorated with orange, gold, pink and brown patterns and drawings. Both dishes depict geishas and their servants enjoying themselves on an outing under cherry trees. There are six orange red hand painted marks “Kaga Kuni, Oda Sei” on the backs...

Mask made of kiri (Paulownia) wood, showing the wide-laughing and dimpled face of god of good fortune (shichifukujin), Daikoku. The base of his hat just sitting on the top of his head.
The broad grain of the wood was used to accentuate the round cheeks, nose and nostrils. The wood was formerly stained with a reddish-brown color, now almost completely worn off...
An antique Japanese bronze water pot or ewer decorated and shaped in the style emulating Chinese Shang dynasty bronzes. The tripod leg often is referring to the ding where it was thought that these vessels were used to serve wine. Has a Kanji charactor on base that can be translated to men "to offer". The expertly thrown body, heavily trimmed with a potters knife (hera) is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxid glaze inside and outside. Obviously due to a lack of manganese here it is more a dark brown, which is rare to find on Oribe chawans...
Okimono of the Tokyo school made in bronze, depicting a farmer returning home after the harvest.
He carries two fruit baskets, which are filled with harvest products. To carry the baskets, the farmer has a long stick over his shoulder, with the ends of the baskets hooked to it.

A river runs past deeply forested hills populated by rooftops in this naïve ink painting reflecting the charm of rural Japan by Shirakura Niho. Ink on paper mounted in a green cloth border extended with beige featuring Shunkei nuri lacquered wooden rollers which would instantly call to mind the mountain village of Takayama, home of the Shunkei style. It is 52.5 x 116.5 cm (20-1/2 x 46 inches) and comes in the original signed wooden box titled Satoyama Fukei (Mountain Village Scenery)...

Chinese bronze tea kettle, Its body decorated with raised dragons within beautifully shaped borders. Its spout has the form of a dragon's head with a ball in its mouth, with a nice green patina formed around the opening. Its handle has the form of a dragon's body, its tail and neck curled inwards, and the lid has a cute dragon with spindly legs within a triquetra shape, decorated with raised designs. Very rare and unusual wood tiled village shrine from Dema - mura village in Mie Province. Dated the year of the tiger C.1818 the shrine houses gods and happiness. Signed on the back with the date and maker, Fujiwara Shokichi. Cypress wood with a bronze lock on the doors to the inner chamber. Japanese antique wood block print of the sumo wrestler, Unryū Kyūkichi (Unryū Hisakichi) with beard and wearing a keshō-mawashi (ceremonial apron-style belt). Unryū Kyūkichi was in the makuuchi league since 1852. Name used from 1850-1865. He retired in 1865. Signed by Kōchōrō Toyokuni ga and date seal between 1851-1853. Framed print.

The netsuke is finely carved, showing great attention to detail. The sides of the table are decorated with engraved geometric patterns, adding a touch of sophistication.
