Antique Japanese single section tansu with a lacquered keyaki front and top, black lacquered sides and front frame. It has round iron lockplates, decorated with a large kiri leaf, warabite handles, and a side lockbox.
Size: 35" height, 42" width, 16.5" depth
This is very rare Shibori Kimono produced in Akita Asamai area for Edo period.
This is dyed with a natural indigo plant carefully.
As for this, a pattern is Eba-gara. Three carps swim in the water like a brick.
In the Hanada-colored ground, three bold carps and waterweeds with the force are expressed in indigo dyeing Shibori.
This cotton is spun by hand...

Pair of Japanese antique abumi (horse riding stirrups), made of iron with silver inlay all over in beautiful designs of vines and leaves, the bottom of each stirrup is decorated with a bamboo motif, the foot areas are lacquered black, each abumi is inlaid with writing: Kaga Ishikawa Prefecture, Mori Hei Saku (artist's name and "signed by") lived in Komaki. This large Japanese late Meiji (1867~1911) ivory carving is 14 ¼” high, 4” wide and 2 ¾” in depth. It depicts a smiling sage carrying a fan in his left hand and holding a long staff in his right hand. A rolled up scroll is tied to the top of the staff. Aside from a few hair line cracks due to age and size, it is in good condition. More detailed photos are available.

This is a beautiful and unique Japanese Cloisonne box.The artist could have be one of at several but it looks like a piece from Inaba,Honda or Shibata. The box is about 50% larger than most boxes and has the same form as a Hayashi box I once had. The silk lining with the mums is exquisite. The box measures 6 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 2 5/8 tall. The condition is excellent.
