Cotton futonji with katazome (stencil-resist-dye) whose motif is paulownia flower but the design looks more western painting rather than traditionl katazome paulownia flower. Made of hand-spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo and partly sumi (ink) is used in the plant. Generally in good condition but has some mending patches and slightly indigo faded panels. Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty Cizhou oval form stoneware wine bottle with four lug handles below the short, everted rim. The upper body is covered in a creamy white crackled slip and is separated from the lower iron-brown section by a narrow horizontal band. The unglazed base is covered in grit from the kiln. 11 3/4” high. Circa 12th to 13th century. Very good overall condition with typical wear and production flaws...

Statue of a household protecting ancestor, sitting on a rounded base, his head with an unusual pointed top, his hands in "namaste" posture. Wood, with fine age patina. Nepal, 19th century. A unusually elaborate pair of pottery figures of female Attendants, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), dating to late Ming period c. 1550-1650 AD.



The ladies are dressed large thick robes, with imposing hairdresses. One is wearing af fan, the other is wearing purse in front of her chest. Both are standing on round plints. They are glazed in torqouise and dark blue colours.

A small thinly potted wine or tea cup delicately painted in shades of underglaze blue with traditional Chinese landscape scenes. The cup is bound with a metal (copper) rim, apparently made to cover a burst glaze bubble. On the base is a four character shop mark which reads "Shun Li Kun Ji". The makers mark was in use during the late Qing / early Republic period so we assume that this item was made during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration...

Chinese Qing dynasty Nanking ware bowl decorated around the center in underglaze blue with figures in a landscape setting of mountains, trees, traditional huts, and boats on a lake. The flaring top rim and base have brown incised bands that are characteristic of brown etched wares produced between 1880 and 1920.
