Chinese black silk embroidered panel with a very finely rendered butterfly over a peony. The small bright orange embroidery is the forbidden stitch. In very good condition with colors still true, only the piping showing signs of wear. No staining on the embroidered side. Measures 18.5" (47 cm) long x 9.75" (24.8 cm) wide.

Nice version of the Toe type with the elavated tail and with three spikes, with a octagonal base engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast.

A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795)but possibly made later during the 19th Century. It arrived in the UK before 1910 and is from an old West Country estate.
Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished. There are no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration but there are surface scratches...
This rare Edo period antique Japanese round box has 3 tiers, lid and plate. There is a column of small Gosan kiri family crests down one side and another column of small family crests on the other side. The inside is of each piece is red orange lacquer. The box fits into the rim of a plate which was use for serving. The gold lacquer paintings designs are all very fine.
The box on the plate stands approx 9.5 inches tall. and is approx 5.5 inches in diameter...

Family crest in gold on top and bottom of helmet. Bronze ring Tama Buchi. Worn by the samurai class in feudal Japan, as well as their retainers and foot soldiers.
Age: Edo Period (1603-1867)

A really attractive and funny bronze or brass erotic 'toy' figur with a dark, age patina, India, 19th. century.
The figure is mechanical and the male has a hinge. He thrusts into the woman when you press the little lever on the base.
