An antique Kanazawa Tansu Japanese chest in a single section Todana style. All original lacquer finish and bronze hardware. Made of Keyaki (Zelkova) burl and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. 4 side by side drawers with a pair of sliding doors covering a spacious storage area. Constructed using through mortise and tenon joinery with side slats for additional strength and Japanese visual design.

A bronze Atef crown's feather. Ram's horn on bottom upon which a rearing ureas cobra is perched, with gaps probably originally containing inlays, crowned with the solar disc; the cobra flanks a large, curling ostrich plume with multiple horizontal incised lines. Height: 3-1/2" , not including base. Late Dynastic Period, ca 700 to 330 B.C.
Relief fragment, sculpted in grey schist, with two levels, the upper level representing Buddha, under an arcade, sitting in royal repose on a dais, and flanked by three disciples on his right, the lower level representing the bust of a Bodhisattva under a vault. Gandhara graeco-Buddhist art, ca. 3rd century. Height: 21 cm. Width: 15 cm. Thickness: around 6.3 cm. The relief is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Good condition.
