This is pure antique Edo: Wan-shaped tea bowl made of dark, iron oxide bearing, sandy Karatsu clay. The thinly thrown body is covered with the typical white, feldspatic Shino type glaze. It differs from the Mino Shino glaze by being glossier due to a higher ash content.

Under the glaze a line was applied in iron oxide resembling the skin of a whale (kawakujira). Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed. The glaze has a beautiful fine crazing...

Antique Japanese keyaki (elm) wood temple carving of a fu-dog. Beautifully carved with mane of swirling curls and mouth full of sharp teeth, this fierce guardian would have once graced the eves of a buddhist temple roof. Edo Period. With contemporary black metal stand. Size: 15 1/2" high total (10 1/2" high not including stand) x 15" wide x 7 1/2" wide.

Tastefully designed with hirute style handles, and slats on its sides and front sliding panels, opening to reveal an open storage area and two drawers. Original honey tone finish. A Very Fine Blue and White Korean Porcelain Globular Jar-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The globular jar on raised and recessed ring foot and with slightly everted collar, decorated in underglaze blue with two peony sprays below a band of cusped clouds, the neck with parallel lines, beneath a thick, blue-tinged clear white glaze overall, It’s in very fine condition without any repairs or cracks but a very slight discoloration on other side. This is a are Banko teapot in pristine condition. This sea creature pattern is one of the most collectible ever created by the Banko factory.It has some history written on the underside that the buyer can remove or leave.

A very large Chinese porcelain wucai enameled ewer or wine pot of compressed ovoid form with cover decorated with an overall brocade pattern composed of hexagonal cells each containing an enamelled four petal flower inset with two large reserves containing respectively Camelias and Rocks, and Flowering Plum and Rocks. The body of the ewer is comparatively thinly potted, and the handle and spout are simply luted to the body with slip. The ewer was made for the Japanese market...

Antique Japanese Ningyo doll of a beautiful Geisha, fretting over a strand of beads. She wears an elaborate blue silk kimono with cherry blossoms, and patterns of trickling water in wonderful gold thread, paired with a bright orange obi with gold thread chrysanthemums. Antique Chinese pair of blue and white porcelain lidded jars for storing ginger root, with white crackle underglaze and cobalt blue scrolling vines and flowers. Double blue ring on the bottom of each foot. Size: 10" H x 6" W

This is a very fine cloisonne vase with very fine work. It stands only 3 3/4 inches tall but it is loaded with fine details, enameling and sculpted wire work. The vase does have a very slight bend on the bottom rim and there is a small amount of enamel damage that is hard to notice.

Small antique tribal Persian chanteh (bag). Hand woven of wool in lovely deep indigo blue and brown. A central rectangle of deep blue has six vertical bands of white with interlocking motifs perhaps of rams horns, a powerful masculine symbol. Framing this is a wide dark brown band which is subtly woven with repeating protective eye motifs. The back of the bag is woven a solid deep brown color. Circa 1900. Size: 17" wide x 13" high
