This late 19th century small Famille Rose brush holder is 4 ¼” tall and 2 ¾” in diameter. It depicts a young boy is trying to light fire crackers. An older girl is covering the ears of another frightened boy. The workmanship is simple and elegant. There is a maker’s mark on the bottom which reads “Xin Yuan Xuan made this.” It is in excellent condition.

This Qing Dynasty Guang Xu Period (1875~1908) Famille Rose seal box is 2” high and 3” in diameter. It depicts two young boys riding on Qi Ling (or Ki Ren, a legendary animal, usually related with young male), another is pushing a cart, carrying a symbolic officer’s hat. There are small floral designs on the rim. Aside from one old chip inside the box and a couple of small chips on the bottom, it is in fairly good condition.

Excavated in Kalimantan, Borneo. The piece is small, like most of the Song Geyao items, the shape is like Song, the glaze is like Song, but the clay ( porcelaneous ) looks different, and so unfortunately I have to be confident, that it must be a 18th century piece. What is confusing, is, that the piece was excavated together with some broken, ordinary Song pieces, and that there have not been found any other Qing material at this lokation. The piece is very nice, and in a perfect condition...

Ming Dynasty Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) blue and white bowl. Very nice glaze and kobalt blue. The waterplant design on the inside of the bowl reminds on the typical waterplant desing of the earlier Chenghua pieces. Nice condition - no cracks, repaired rim fritting at one part of the rim which is viseable at enlargement 6. Diameter : 15 cm.

Hundreds of flowers such as peony, chrysanthemum, lily, lotus, wisteria and hibiscus cover the entire plate. Two separate floral (peony) designs are on the back. It has an honorific Qian Long mark on the bottom. The workmanship is excellent. The gold edging on the rim has slightly rubbed off. Aside from this minor wear, it is in great condition.

The slightly tapered drum-shaped body is decorated with typical Canton scenes of islands, bridges, boats, etc. and is accented with a raincloud border along the top edge.
