A good and large/heavy hard wood hand carved wedding duck, to set up with two parts, a head and body, traditionally used in wedding ceremonies, with old patina overall, its bottom square carved for holding. It’s in very good condition with old dark-brown patina due to its age,it measures 18.5cm high. and 32cm length, weight: 2.74 lbs.

Small cast bronze incense burner in the shape of a duck. The bird is lying on its folded legs and gracefully twists its neck to groom its plumage. There has never been a lid because the opening on its back is clean without grooves and without any trace of friction or wear. The carving is of good quality, the eyes and nostrils are particularly well executed. Chinese work from the 18th century or much earlier. Below, between the legs, the bronze cracked and was repaired with tin solder...

Chinese Qing to Republic period porcelain lion dog seated with an open mouth revealing ferocious teeth and a well-formed protruding tongue, covered overall with a golden amber glaze. 8 1/2" high x about 8" long. Early 20th century. An old price tag is adhered to the unglazed base. Very good overall condition with possibly a tiny loss or production flaw to the side of one tooth. From a Paradise Valley, Arizona estate.

Poutaï in porcelain enamelled mainly in yellow, details in blue, green, pink, white and gold enamels. The deity is represented seated, relaxed as usual. The jovial expression is well treated. The subject was executed in large quantities but the one we present here today is more interesting than usual because its yellow color is particularly appreciated in China, its expression is beautiful and it is in perfect condition...

Satzuma fine earthenware tea bowl by Nakamura Baikei (1868-1912). Decor of a palace or a temple rising in a snow-covered lake landscape and animated by numerous characters. Drawings very finely executed by Baikei who was one of the best artists in Satzuma. His works were widely copied. Its production was of irregular quality, sometimes weak, rarely excellent. The bowl presented here is one of his best creations, if not the best, because it is perfect...

Ko Imari Oranda-jin Hexagonal Hakukaku Mukuzuke c.1800 A deep octagonal bowl, mukuzuke, or choku, decorated with eight panels containing figures of orand-jin Dutchmen in various poses and involved in a number of activities. Some carry canes or cudgels and are perhaps involved in some sort of martial activity, whilst others carry a dove, a chatusbo (tea-jar) and a ruyi sceptre, auspicious objects...

An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (clothing chest) made entirely of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute style handles. Three drawers for Kimono storage with a small corner drawer where fashion accessories were stored.

Container in 2 parts. Rare form. Perhaps an incense burner or a container to keep a liquid warm? A small undecorated white porcelain bucket fits into a porcelain container decorated with enamel birds. Below mark of Tong-Zhi, one of the last Chinese Emperor. The porcelains of this reign are usually of very low quality, our porcelain is an exception, indeed the birds are well drawn, precision and elegance. Technically, the cooking is perfect, no flaws, no splits or lacks, well-cooked enamels...

Incense burner in copper alloy (cast bronze and embossed and cut brass). Oriental work from the 19th century or before. Probably Ottoman but maybe Syrian? The hinge was consolidated by a riveted piece of metal and one of the three feet was replaced as one of the photos shows? The three legs are fixed to the base by a system of finely executed 'butterfly' nuts. The assembly is slightly twisted as can be seen in the photos. Height: 25cm Diameter: 20cm
