A nicely carved 19th c white jade belt buckle, of reticulated qilong dragon form. The tone of the jade is of a translucent grayish white.

Chinese Jade carving of a maiden representing "Yuenu", a historic figure famous for her ability at archery and how to use a sword. She came from the Chinese province of Zhejiang and is sometimes called the Maiden of the Southern Forrest. The jade is beautifully carved with her holding a sword in her left hand and a ruyi scepter in her right, cloths flowing in the wind.
