This is an accomplished drawing in fine condition by an elusive artist about which there seems to be little to know, FREDERICK MILLSON. This and two other works by him came out of a San Fernando Valley estate (the others listed here)...

Traditional watercolor still life of roses, yellow daffodils and maybe some dogwood, arranged in a white vase against a sketchily defined background, 20" by 22 1/2" (27" by 30 3/4" framed), apparently unsigned, though a number "1432" appears at lower right corner under the mat (I do NOT think it says 1932). The paper was laid on a board long ago. I think this dates to the 1940's or so; the hand was trained. Condition is excellent and this is ready for the wall.

PARKER" and dated there 1966. My first impression was that this might be a New Mexican scene, and research of the artist name suggests that this hunch might be right. Google shows a Miriam K...

Decker, according to printed information on the sleeve (these 11 1/4" by 15" works are not framed), was born in St. Louis, and after growing up in Southern California and military service in the Pacific, studied at the Portland School of Art in Oregon...

A turn of the century watercolor painting of a forest at the edge of a lake at sunset, 10" by 14" (14" by 18" in recent quality framing) signed at lower left by Massachusetts artist C. MYRON CLARK (1858-1925). The impressionist scene is peaceful and sensitively painted. Clark was born in New York but is most closely associated with Massachusetts. He painted landscapes and also marines with clipper ships, in oil and watercolor. Works are held by the Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts...

For the Hawaiiana fans, here is a clean Hale Pua anthuriums print, 13 3/4" by 10 3/4" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Close up magnification shows it to be some kind of later photo of an original airbrush painting, I believe (offset printing-type dots visible with a magnifier). The color seems to be just printed on rather than airbrushed, the signature, likewise. You need a magnifying glass to tell the difference...

The artist titled both in margin and signed at lower right. Roudebush was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Sacramento as a youth...

Original black-painted terra cotta sculpture of the head of an apparently African-American man, signed at the base "Marion Goodman". To date I have not located a listing for an artist by this name. The sculpture, which has some age (circa 1950's to 1970'?) measures roughly 18" high by 11" by 8"(including base) and weighs 22 pounds. The artist worked the clay with great skill to create a very life-like face, and the curls of the hair are also treated with care...

An original gallery poster from Old Town Circle Gallery, San Diego, for a September/October 1981 exhibition of the works of the artist, YAACOV AGAM (1928-). In typical style, the artist has HAND SIGNED the poster in color markers at lower right; he did it in that vibrating, repeating style for which he is known, each signature in a different color marker. Agam's works have sold at auction to about the $700,000 level, and frequently into six figures, making him an important Israeli artist...

A detailed oil on canvas scene titled on reverse label "Venice at the Canale Grande", unframed, 15" by 30", signed at lower left by turn of the century Italian artist ENRICO FOSSATI. The painting shows a less famous view of the canal and adjacent houses and people going about their business. There are at least thirteen figures in scene, some tiny; a pigeon or two and a few tiny chickens; a bridge; about ten boats of various sizes; clothes hanging out to dry; charming architectural details...

Naive painting of peasant figures in traditional clothing, sheep, llamas, birds and snow-capped mountains, signed at lower left by artist Inez Zodqui and titled "ECUADOR" at lower center. The small painting measures only 6" by 8" but there is a lot going on in this small space. The primitive art style is popular with tourists to the region. Condition is excellent. Frame if you wish or hang as-is.

Oil on canvas painting (18 1/2" by 15", 24" by 20" in later frame) of a canal and old buildings in Amsterdam, a church towering (possibly the medieval Oudekerk) in the distance, signed at lower right by the listed Dutch artist KEES (CORNELIS) TERLOUW (1890-1948). A beautifully executed original watercolor painting of Sacre Coeur church and surrounding street in Montmartre district of Paris, titled at lower right "Paris Place St. Pierre" and signed at lower left by artist "G. Meraut". There does not seem to be information on this artist but the talent is obvious. Certainly he or she was familiar with Maurice Utrillo and his famous renderings of this special part of Paris. The work measures 10 1/2" by 15 1/2" inside the mat and 19" by 24" in wood frame ...
