Circa 1960's watercolor painting of a snowy street in New England, a white church at left and bare elm trees framing the scene at right, signed at lower right corner by artist William Carpenter. I do not see a listing that would seem to fit but the artist obviously was talented in the watercolor medium. Condition is very clean. All images were taken through detail-dulling non-glare glass of the period. Measurements 10 1/4" by 11 1/2" (16" by 17" framed).

A print, fine offset type dots showing under magnification, 13" by 9 1/2" (19 1/2" by 16 1/2" in gold framing, no glass), pencil signed by the artist, MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985) at lower right corner. On the backing is a January 2, 1996 photo certificate/declaration by autograph appraiser and author Herman Darvick, attesting to the authenticity of the signature. To the naked eye the work looks exactly like a true lithograph, but it is not...

Pastel drawing of trees in early autumn by a large body of water, signed at lower right M. Moore, measuring 13 1/2" by 19" (21" by 26" framed). The viewer is reminded of Canadian art--landscapes of Ontario in the fall, for example--though this might just be a generic scene from the imagination of the artist. A colorful original work with considerable decorative quality. The drawing is slipping around a bit under the mat so will have to be re-affixed to backing.

PAIR of pochoir (airbrush over stencil) prints, one titled "IRIS I", the other "IRIS II", the first numbered 123/250 and measuring 28 1/2" by 20" (36" by 27" framed), the other numbered 161/250 and measuring 30 3/4" by 22 1/2 in thin wood frame (no mat), both signed in pencil and dated at lower right 1980. Early and rarely encountered oversized Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) depicting tradesmen. The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori” at the lower right, dated ’68, and numbered 28/60. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The paper measures 26 1/2”V x 21 1/2”H. The print is in good overall condition. The portion of the paper edge that was previously covered by a mat is very sightly darker...
