A small Chinese agate carving of a tiger and her cub set on a wooden stand with motif of bamboo carved along with jagged rocks. The combination of bamboo and tigers in Chinese art can be seen as early as the Ming dynasty. The tiger, often represented as the king of the earth combined with bamboo a symbol of the mind of a literati, can be seen as the ideals of the individual. Wonderful 1960’s sterling silver concho belt by a very fine Navajo silversmith of N.P, c. 1950s-60s.

Unusally large and heavy plus very ornate with particularly fine select large torquise stones mounted on 12 Conches and the massive buckle.

The belt measure 130 cm. length and weighs 932 grams, almost a kilo. Probably the largest we've seen for sale and the high weight must be due to the larger size of the Conchos and buckle.

Japanese miniature black Raku Tea Bowl or Chawan in signed wooden box, Ca. 1980, the tea bowl measures 1 3/8" high, 2 1/8" diameter-top rim, impressed mark "Raku near the bottom and also top and inside the box, enclosed the paper information of the area of the kiln and how they made. Kiln crack on the white clay area where the impressed mark is located, but not on the black glaze inside the bowl.
