Vintage green stained staghorn obidome (sash ornament) carved as a running lizard. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Clever design, good quality carving, nice finish and patina, two metal fittings on the back for an obi cord. Length 2 inches.
This is a very attractive Vintage Japanese cloisonne vase designed with a contemporary style or deco look. We have never seen another like it. The vase is rather large and is signed Sato. It stands 7 1/2 tall and is 8 1/2 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with only a little pitting on the bottom rim. This is probably the finest cloisonne example we have seen produced from this company.

This kasuri kimono appears to be hand woven (to my eyes) and another Tsukurioki kimono in new condition. Tsukuri-oki means that it has been left unused after it was made into a kimono. This was caused by the drastic changes in their clothing especially after the World War II. In modern days, Kasuri kimonos have been associated with old women from the country-side, definitely for the non-fashionable group. This is an attractive vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase. It is much like another piece we currently have listed but of higher quality. It may be from Ando. The wireless enamel work on the mountain and clouds is very good. Except in the foreground, the enamel colors are soft pastel tones of gray/blue. It just under 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. There is a minor dent to bottom rim that can not be seen when on display. otherwise the condition is outstanding.
Republic period mottled pale green jade Chinese small sword or dagger nicely carved with a great surface sheen and patina. A chilong is carved on each side of the guard between the handle and blade. In excellent condition, it measures 16" long. Can be used a page turner and would be a terrific addition to your desk. VIDEO AVAILABLE upon request.

These two well carved and polished netsuke are early or mid - 20th century products. The tall one is a bare footed older man holding a long staff. It is 3 ¾” high, 1 ¼” wide and three quarters of an inch thick. The artist’s signature, “Hajime,” is carved on the bottom. A mirror pair of 7.25" vases, enameled in deep red enamel over metal bodies incised in a pattern of birds in a bamboo grove. They are marked "Made in Japan" on their silvered bases. Top rims are copper colored, the counter-enamel is deep red. The pair has no chips, hairlines or repairs.

This is a very attractive Cloisonne jewelry chest from Inaba. It is a vintage piece, but still there a lot of work that went into this jewelry chest. It is decorated all over. There are two working drawers and both sides of the doors are also decorated. In the bottom area is a wind-up musical mechanism, that does work. The Phoenix Bird decoration on the top is very nicely done. The box is very heavy and it measures 7 1/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep...

Chinese 20th century Eggshell Porcelain Famille Rose Dragon Vase of amphora form finely hand painted in bright enamel with six red, yellow, and green dragons on a Famille Rose Millefleurs and gold background. The flaring neck rim is decorated with bands of Ruyi scepter heads.

This mid 20th century carved wood netsuke is 1 7/8” high, 1 ½” wide and 7/8” thick. It depicts two playful mice resting on a small flat basket. The mouse on the top is chewing the tail of the other one and the one on the bottom is fighting back by biting the other one’s back leg. It is signed but is not legible. The carving is very nice and it is in great condition.
Rectangular cover for over a gift, called fukusa made of green (front) and purple (back) silk satin. On the front is an image of three turtles walking towards the water, with a bamboo grove in the back of them. The hand-made decoration is done in velvet, hand painting and gold thread embroidery.
On the back in light gray velvet against purple is a round family crest.
Green and brown braided tassels in the corners.
