Stoneware water jar or mizusashi as used in the tea ceremony with round bottom developing into a diamond shaped edge. Greyish smooth stoneware, decorated with horizontal grooves, covered with brown iridescent glaze on the outside and with a mottled greenish-yellow glaze on the inside, dripping over the outside edge and down. Black lacquered, diamond-shaped coved. Takatori style, Japan, early Showa era, circa 1930-1950s.

Hand spun, hand woven Japanese Tsumugi silk obi. This obi was made from a full obi roll without being cut; the front fabric was turned into the back and the sides of obi were simply sewn together without padding inside. The design area covers exactly half of the front. New Condition (almost). Dimensions: 11 3/4" x 10'8" (128")

Hanten, called "suzukake" worn by a Shugen-sha or Yamabushi who practiced Shugendo. Shugendo is the Japanese unique religion combining Buddhism, Shintoism, and worship of nature (mountains). A practitioner (shugen-sha) trained himself in the holy mountains that is ascetic and very painstaking. It is made of hemp and weft of is hand-plied but warp is machine-spun...

Japanese obidome (sash ornament) with polished jasper top, its natural pattern perfectly resembling a view of a desert with dunes and incoming sandstorm. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Amazing natural picture, excellent finish and patina. Metal fitting on the back with two loops for an obi cord. Length 1 1/2 inches.

(A) Antique large hand painted satsuma button figural ceramic earthenware with red, yellow, blue, green purple and gold paint. 33mm or 1.25" across. Odd shape self shank - see image 3.
(B) Smaller but just as beautifully and masterfully painted teal and lucky pale blue bamboo with gold outlines against a creamy slightly crazed convex background. 7/8" / 22mm...

Glass ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in a form of tombodama bead in barrel shape with semitransparent body and decoration of Santa Claus, Christmas tree and falling snow. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Beautifully made, very pleasant patina. Diameter 0.72 inches.

A two-double janus ancestors which could seems rough at first glance but looking carefully reveals a peculiar design, the larger form is yet anthropomorphic with a superposed carved second human silhouette, the back side is similar. This hanging scroll of Yang Yuhuan, a Tang Dynasty Royal Consort, as attributed to Fu Baoshi (1904-1965), is both rare and skilfully executed. Its painting subject is based upon the of-quoted love story between Li Longji, the Tang Emperor Xuanzong, and his royal consort and soul-mate, Yang Yuhuan. The painting portrays Yang, before ascending to Heave on her white horse, awaits to see her lover Emperor Xuanzong the last time. She looks beautiful but terribly sad...

A large Chinese export silver Good Fortune brooch circa 1900. This pin measures 2-1/2" across; it has a c-clasp and it is unmarked (but has been tested as high grade silver). Japanese carved Bone standing Okimono on black carved wooden stand, all one piece, Ca. 1930, 5" high, condition is good, no damages.

Chinese Lacquer Papier Mache Dish, 3/4" diameter, made during 18th to 19th century. Large Chinese Character in gold in the center on a very rich dark red lacquer background. There are some red lacquer loses around the rim.

Beautiful Chinese jadeite pendant, carved with a dragon on one side of front and back, mounted with a white gold setting marked 18K, the jadeite is a striking mottled light green, emerald green with subtle orange-yellow area on one edge. Size of jadeite: 2.8 x 4.3 x 0.4 cm

1950's Chinese Silver Filigree Jadeite Carved Plaque Bracelet Marked "Silver"

It is 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in inner circumference by 2.2 inches (5.5 cm) in inner diameter. The jadeite is about 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide. It is 58.5 gram.

It is tarnished and has inclusions at the jadeite (as seen in the photos).
