Makanai which is a kimono worn at home after work in the Nanbu region, where is the east part of Aomori prefecture. It is made of hemp cloth whose wefts and warps are hand-plied and lightly vegetable indigo dyed. The lining is machine-spun cotton. It has very fine sashiko with indigo dye cotton yarn. Pair of large Chinese porcelain blue and white beaker vases in the Kangxi style. Each is decorated all around in under-glaze blue lotus blooms and flowering prunus on a white ground. The inside of each is glazed white. The base glazed the same with a double circle in under-glaze blue. These vases are quite large and heavy.

This is a densely beaded purse made by Pashtun nomadic women from Afghanistan depicting the ancient tree of life motif. It measures 12 x 19.5 cm and is in excellent condition. The beaded tassels are attached by cords made of metallic thread. The inside is lined with purple polyester fabric and features three pockets. The embroidery technique is a tightly worked ladder stitch accented with metallic braided trim. Estimated age mid to late 20th century.

This is a lady's purse from Bamiyan, Afghanistan, finely embroidered in silk thread. The Hazara excel in making very intricate geometric design embroideries executed in brick stitch. This purse has also some chain stitch and couching stich ("basma") on the reverse, which features three separate pockets. Condition is good with some staining on the front consistent with its age (mid to late 20th century). The purse measures 10.9 x 23.6 cm.
Chinese Bamboo woven 2 compartment Food Basket with handle and black Iris ink painting on top of the lid, and clear lacquer finish on the entire basket. Ca. early 1900's or later part of 1800's, 17 1/2" high with handle, 14" x 8 1/2" wide. All the parts are in place, nothing is missing. The basket is in good condition except wood joint have separation on the bottom of the trays, caused by the dryness and age. Maker's mark on the bottom in black.

Very long antique Chinese necklace with Baltic amber beads, some carved, in dark butterscotch and cognac colors. Guaranteed genuine natural amber. The beads are mostly opaque. Blanc de Chine statue of Guanyin holding a flowering lotus stem in her right hand dressed in flowing windswept robes standing on a base of rolling waves, standing on a lotus pod. The statue and the base appear to have been made separate and then luted together.
