The Hazara embroidery of central Afghanistan is extremely fine, worked typically in brick stitch in diamond motifs surrounded by hooked diamonds. This purse was probably used to store a precious object such as the soil or holy stone brought from the holy city of Kerbala. This purse measures 13 x 22.5 cm when open, 9.6 x 13 cm when closed. Silk thread embroidered in brick stitch on cotton. Condition is excellent, and its estimated age is mid to late 20th century.

Four(4) Ivory Napkin Rings, two(2) different sizes, 1 3/8" high and 1 3/4" diameter-larger ones, 1 1/8" high and 1 5/8" diameter-smaller ones. They are in good colors and condition, no damages.

A creamware dinner plate with shaped edge, elaborate painted lattice border on the rim and good “Chinese scene” decoration to the body of the plate. Though it is unmarked it is almost certainly English from the late18th century. The color is deep cobalt blue and the execution very good. 10 inch (25.5 cm) diameter.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Looks almost new with very little wear.

Good brush painting of a tiger by the artist Li Shou Lin dated 1978. Painted in the traditional style water color and ink mounted on silk and heavy paper. Flapper necklace, a sautoir (Fr. sauter = to throw) made up of black seed beads and an 18 carat gold tube with Swedish hallmarks and year mark for 1925. Length "67/ 170 cm. Condition: one or two irregularities due to loss of beads. Enough black beads of the same size and nuance will be included to make the necklace look perfect and as new again.
