An important, rare modernist brooch by the renowned African American jeweler, Art Smith. Has a copper ball caged in swirled brass coils. The ball moves for an interesting effect.

Measures 3 1/4" long and 2 3/8" at the widest. Marked with the 'Art Smith' script signature. Has a secure rollover clasp. In fine condition with areas of tarnish.

Rare kinetic showstopper designed by Bent Gabrielsen while he worked for iconic Danish silversmith Hans Hansen. In textured sterling silver with a dangling disc that has a gold wash. Offered is a vintage Steven Maslach dichroic studio glass perfume bottle. Because of one iridescent dichroic glass surface, the bottle changes colors in different light and angles. The bottle and matching stopper, which resemble an iceberg, have what appear to be rough cut free form edges, although they are smooth to the touch. Sculpture of a long-nosed tanuki, walking with a hat on its back and a flask in its left paw. The piece is built around a large piece of root wood that comprises the torso, legs, the enlarged scrotum and tail. The head is a separate piece of root wood, the ears inserted. The sake flask is a small piece of root wood, and the hat is carved from a slab of a different wood species.

Hat and sake bottle are attached to the tanuki with braided silk cords.

The bearded soldier, his right hand on his hip, sits erect upon his amber horse which stands on the curved tile base. A Cellini Craft Arts & Crafts sterling ladle. This finely crafted Georg Jensen style sterling gravy ladle was made by the American Cellini Craft company of Chicago in the 1930s. A pair of 10 inch tall Pairpoint candlesticks in colorless glass with amethyst additions. The sticks are decorated in the classic “Waterford” pattern and are identified as shape F1622 Florentine candlesticks in the 1915 - 1920 company literature as illustrated in Padgett’s “Pairpoint Glass.” There is no damage to either candlestick.
