A wood water basin was nicely carved in shape of a lotus leaf with a lotus pond.
It was preserved in very good condition by nice brownish patina.
Some of the seeds in the lotus pond were still movable when some were sticked but nothing is missing.

A great, 950 sterling silver cuff bracelet by Haroldo Burle Marx with a large bezel set 'Forma Livre' opaque black carved stone.

Marked 950 and BURLE MARX on the inside. Measures 6 3/4" around with an opening of 1 1/4". Measures 1" at the widest. Weighs 104 gr.

Fine condition. There are some minor surface scratches to the finish. There is a slight separation at the underside of the bezel but the stone is stable.

The Guanyin is seated in rajalitasana, royal ease, on a pierced rockwork base with one leg lowered and the other with knee raised supporting the right arm, the face carved with a poised and calm expression, wearing a tiara and loose robes falling over the shoulders and open at the chest to reveal an elaborate beaded necklace.

Sculpture of a long-nosed tanuki, walking with a hat on its back and a flask in its left paw. The piece is built around a large piece of root wood that comprises the torso, legs, the enlarged scrotum and tail. The head is a separate piece of root wood, the ears inserted. The panache, verve, and energy of this striking wood carving of a Spanish conquistador is remarkable for its dynamism and expressiveness. This impressive 2 3/4" sterling silver cuff studded with 30 amethyst cabs was hallmarked c. 1940 by Manuel Altamirano, senior silversmith in Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda. Interior length measures 5 1/2" end to end. The gap opening is 1 1/2". Terminals measure 2 3/4" wide, center front is 2 1/2" wide. Weight 79 grams. The bracelet is in beautiful condition.
