This is a late Qing period crystal snuff bottle. On the shoulder of the snuff bottle it is curved with the design of Ruyi and the body that of the petals of the lotus and at the base it is surrounded all round with the lappets of the lotus. This is a Japanese antique indigo-dyed cotton asamai-shibori textile from the Meiji period (1868-1912). It is a maple leaves and butterflies are expressed by squeezing. It is a very beautiful indigo-dyed Asamai Shibori fabric. No stains or damage. very good. There is a pressing cloth on the back, but there is no problem. Size: Lengt:124cm (48.8inch) / Width 76cm ( 29.9).

This rare antique bag was made and used by the Yi ethnic minority... It was made from hand corded plant fiber,tied into a series of knots to form a shallow sack. Originally there would have been a fabric shoulder strap which would have been tied around the loops on either side of the top of the bag... The front of the bag is decorated with a traditional silver ornament depicting a butterfly. The bag is in tact: no holes, or rips but is dirty from use and age....

This Chinese wood carving from the Qing Dynasty portrays a seated nobleman. The surface is covered with remains of the original multi layers of lacquer paint. There are no marks on the bottom. Hand carved and only 4 inches high this is a charming piece of old folk art, an artifact from the glory days of old China.

Wonderful patina on this old tray from the Philippines. Woven from bamboo strips, this tray is approx 30 inches in diameter.

This Japanese red lacquered wooden serving platter or tray is 13 inches in diameter. It is carved as a bream, which is the Japanese fish symbol for the "bounty of the sea". There are several layers of different colors of red lacquer which heighten the fluid appearence of the fish. The surface is slightly dulled with use and age, the charger is in wonderful condition.

A very nice ceramic figure of the standing female deity Artemis with her boots on, leaning with her right on a pillar, Roman Imperial, 1st.-3rd. century AD.

19th century boxwood netsuke of Thunder God Raiden standing on his drum that he tore open by beating it with a striker on the clouds. According to Japanese folklore by beating the drum Raiden creates thunder. The stretched leather part of the drum is lacquered in Negoro style: red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black starts showing. The bottom of the drum is carved as a seal, with a seal script reading HARUYOSHI (alternative reading is Shunko) in a reserve shaped like a mallet of Daikoku...

This rare Ming Dynasty (1368 ~ 1615) green, brown and yellow burial sedan chair is 12 inches high, 4 ½” wide and 3 ¾ inches deep. Two curved parts on the roof have been reattached. It is quite possible that the top of the roof is an old replacement.
