Rare blue sharkskin porcelain tea caddy with a bird, flowers, and butterflies. The bird and butterflies are glossy and do not have the sharkskin texture giving this piece a beautiful contrast which was not an easy feat for the artist to achieve. The blue background graduates from light at the bottom to darker shade of light blue at the top. Signed and in excellent condition, it measures 6 inches tall with lid on.

The saucer is 4 1/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 1 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches The cup has a split branch handle. The borders are slightly scalloped with points at intervals. A rare pair of Japanese double gourd shaped porcelain vases, decorated with a ho-o bird flying over "prunus mume" in overglaze blue, green, yellow, aubergine, iron red and gold. Standing on a broad footrim, the rim with "kuchibeni". Condition: fine, only one vase with a short hairline ending in a tiny rim frit on the rear side (please see photo no. 12). Very fine large Meiji Era Japanese porcelain bowl with a delicately painted floral motif accented with gold gilt highlights. The side of the bowl features cranes in various flying poses. Porcelain hand painted figure of a musician playing a lute(?). The original by Bustelli was modeled in the mid-18th century. This is a later copy, after 1887 when the factory was taken over by Albert Baumi and the old models revived. Nymphenburg shield and the numbers 59 and 0 impressed on the underside. 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) tall and 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) across the base.

Condition: undamaged except for three of the four tuning pegs and part of the red bow on his left shoe missing.
