Chinese porcelain underglaze Iron Red and Blue Horse decorated Vase, before 1920's, marked six Chinese character "Kangxi" on the bottom, 4 1/4" high, 3 1/4" widest part of the vase, 1" diameter-top rim, 1 1/2" diameter-bottom rim, three(3) iron red and blue horses are looking towards same direction beside the rock and willow trees. The condition is good, no damages.

Painted cast iron horsehead nameplate by Hubley, intended for use on a stable door, probably at a racetrack or horse farm. Two screws are meant to hold an engraved nameplate to the horseshoe. This would make a great name plate on the front door of a home.

A very rare and highly charming porcelain figure of Budai (Daduze), bare chested with a laughing expression, seated leaning on his sack of treasures. Decorated in famille rose manner with additional gold. SHRINE AND MONKEY

Well-matched assortment of a naturally soot-colored wooden zushi (household shinto altar) with such blackened depth and a votive seated stone monkey sculpture in the ‘gassho’ praying pose with folded hands in such mountain-like well-abstracted silhouette due to aging.

A colorless Webb ewer or cruet decorated with an acid etched floral design and having an acorn stopper. The 7 ½ inch tall piece is 10 inches tall with the stopper in place. The stopper is not the original but is the correct style of stopper for this piece.

Wonderful pair of Hubley cast iron paperweights in the form of African-American children. The little girl wears a yellow jumper over a white blouse and the little boy wears yellow pants and a white shirt. This is the only pair of black memorabilia iron paperweights we’ve seen.

Late 1800s / early 1900s

This figure is press-molded in the traditional manner of blanc de chine sculptures from late Ming times through the Nineteenth Century. It is well-modeled from highly refined, very white porcelain. The interior is unglazed revealing the fine white body. The figure has a glossy creamy white appearance from the fine, evenly-applied clear glaze. Late 19th to early 20th century Chinese porcelain figure of a mythical beast crouching on a rock above cresting waves with its head lowered as it laps the water with its tongue. Wonderful potting, excellent face, beautiful use of turquoise and aubergine colored glazes. Great patina, compressed dust on the surface, few spots of losses to the glaze, the body stamped with 2 characters on the bottom. Height 2 11/16 inches.

Chinese pink sgraffiato porcelain plate featuring 2 dragons. In very good condition save for one chip on the back side of the rim. Measures 8" diameter.

Unusual 1890s - 1910s (late Meiji - early Taisho) Japanese lacquered wood nyoi - a Buddhist scepter - made out of a natural root. Nyoi, or Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship and transmission of knowledge. Lacquered in Negoro style with bright red body and black patch on the head. Striated wood surface texture is nicely felt under lacquer, wonderful patina, very pleasant to the touch...
