Original blond two section Antique Japanese Isho tansu. Beautiful natural kiri wood used in the entire construction of the piece. Kiri has desirable breathing characteristics for a clothing tansu. A fine pair of small tray form dishes with upturned vertical rims decorated in somenishikide style. The central reserve, mikomi, decorated with a stylised “sansui” landscape containing the key components of land and water. The borders decorated with underglaze blue diaper inset with stylised floral motifs. The reverse decorated with a well painted hagi karakusa pattern inset with Lotus flowers, and an auspicious four character fuki chosun marks...

Antique Japanese cha tansu (tea storage cabinet) made with a gorgeous lacquered hinoki (Japanese cypress) frame, and persimmon wood front panels. It has an open display shelving area with a branch accent, original glass panels, iron hirute handles, and plenty of storage space. Taisho period (1912-1925) Size: 46.5" height, 34.5" width 12.75" depth

Finely cast vajra, or "dorje", with five prongs of which four are coming out of "makara" (water dragons) mouths, and the classic double lotus shaped center. Bronze, nice green patina. Tibet, 18th century.Length: 4 7/16" (11,3 cm). Very good condition.

Small figurine representing Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, in formal attire and wearing elaborate diadem and necklaces, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne around which reclining lions are showing. Bronze, with dark reddish-green patina. China, Northern Wei or Sui Dynasty. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Strong erosion due to great age, right hand partly chipped (old accident) otherwise good condition. An extremely rare object.

Small statue of Green Tara, wearing diadem, necklace and dhoti, sitting "at ease" on a double lotus throne. Her right hand holds the "cintamani", the jewel which "grants wishes or satisfies all desires". Bronze, with fine green patina in the recesses. Tibet, 16th century or earlier. Height: 3 3/8" (8,5 cm). Strong erosion due to very old age, tiny losses at the base of the throne, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: Green Tara is seen as the Buddhist protector against all dangers.
