Antique Korean three section lacquer cabinet, with elaborate inlaid scenes of various birds, deer, fish, and flowers. Auspicious creatures with fish tails, turtle shells, and the head of mammals are also seen in several panels. Brass hardware decorates the pieces such as butterfly shaped lockplates and hinges. Each section has double doors with wonderful paintings inside each door, depicting various scenes of nature and happy school children. 19th century Size: 69" H x 39" W x 21" D

A turquoise glazed faience Ushabti figure, of mummiform shape, made in ancient Egypt during the late period, circa 1069 - 332 BC. Provenance: from an old Merseyside collection. Condition: there is age degradation to the surface and the tip of the feet has been chipped off. 9cm (3.5 inches) long.

The handle is made with natural burly wisteria branches. Many baskets where not signed due to the individual "style" each basket had. One could view a basket and know who the artist was. Antique Japanese two-section tansu in gorgeous original Keyaki (hardwood) with original lacquer finish, with red lacquer top and sides. Iron hardware of a rosy tone adorns each corner and drawer front, such as kakute (squared) shape handles and fleur de lis style locks. Beautiful Japanese inro with a swimming highly detailed koi fish on each side. Each koi is delicately carved out of tortoise shell with glass eyes and details in gold lacquer. The body of the info is original lacquer in gold with with gold details and raised tendrils of water. 4 individual pieces (3 compartments), signed on bottom "Kyushi", Edo Period Early 18th century. Original condition. Size: 2 3/4" high x 2 5/8" wide 3/4" thick

This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867). A fight of kawanakajima is a design. It is a very high technique. A samurai (takeda shingen and uesugi kenshin) and a horse are drawn and are also the uplifting feeling and the excitement which seem to begin to move shortly. And there is sashiko stitch on the entire surface by hand. As for it, length is longish with 92cm...

Antique Japanese zenibako also know as a money safe box. Original deep lacquer finish, hinged lid with Iron handle and money slot beside it. A five colour dish decorated with an auspicious pattern showing a dragon chasing a flaming pearl and a hoo bird chasing a thunderbolt. Integrated within the design are the Three Friends of Winter, shochikubai, and a pair of iron red ogee form lotus medallions each containing a precious pearl tama, surrounded by pear blossom, nashihana, symbols of longevity and prosperity. A central motif of a pair of Pomegranates, zakuro, symbols of fertility...

A scalloped form dish with a very unusual design it would seem adapted from a Chinese precedent decorated with the “Hawthorn pattern”. The outer register decorated with a cracked ice ground, Hyouretsu-mon, with scattered plum blossom, baika, inset with snowflake roundels, yukiwa, with Autumn grasses, and hexafoil niche style reserves with precious objects, cash and scrolls tied with ribbons...

Tibetan Thang-ka. Early 20thcentury. Pigment on cloth, the large central roundel with a central figure of Heruka in yab-yum, surrounded by 4 smaller roundelsde picting further deities in a landscape setting. 99 x 65 cm.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase from the 1890's. The work is good enough to be Hayashi. The vase is rather large at 9 1/2 inches and loaded with fine detailing. It is not perfect and the price reflects this. At one time it was a lamp. The drill hole was nicely filled but there are several craze lines around the vase. The rims appear to be silver or nickle. This is a beautiful rare piece of cloisonne.
