Wonderful large carved wooden face of a man. His mouth is open wide and whiskers splay outward. He has a wide nose and large eyes. He appears to be wearing an oval shaped hat on which is carved an animal of some sort with long striped tail and clawed feet. The wood is beautifully worn from years of weather and rain. There are traces of white and yellow paint. Thailand. Early 19th century. Size: 24" high x 17" wide x 3 1/2" deep.

A rare Song Dynasty ( 11th century ) Dehua ware covered box. Porcellaneous white stoneware with a transparent, honey - coloured glaze over a moulded decoration of a nice Pheony blossom motif. Diameter: 7,3 cm. Condition: Excellent.

Antique Japanese Kiri (paulownia) wood tansu with a rare and unusual design of two large front hinged doors with flower incised iron bracing. Opening up to a multi shelved interior reminiscent of a cha tansu (tea chest). Two locking drawers sit beneath it. Beautiful original finish. Edo Period (Circa 1800's) Very charming size. A Pair of Famille Rose Chargers. Decorated in bright enamels with flowering peony and chrysanthemum sprays tied with ribbon within a rose diaper and peony border. Qianlong C1740/50. Diameter: 12 3/8″ ( 31.5 cm ). Condition: one charger with small chip 0.2 cm to rear of rim. The other with 0.75 cm frit to rim.

Antique Japanese asa (hemp) woven vest with a beautiful paste resist pattern of swimming koi fish and waves sewn over a hand painted scene of reeds. Beautiful and charming with its original condition. Edo Period (circa early 1800's). Size: 31.5" H x 23.5"

An exquisite Japanese pillow, the body woven with red pigment lacquer, the ends lacquered in black with gilt lacquer. One end depicts the mythical creature Baku, said to devour bad dreams. The other end is a floral scene with beautiful nashiji gold flakes.

This is a top example of a Edo period Japanese Choba Tansu...

Antique Chinese cedar wood figure of an ancestor seated on a throne, hand-carved with fantastic detail, with mineral pigment remains, some minor losses. Ming period. Size: 10" H x 6.5" W x 6.5" D

Wan-shaped tea bowl made of light, little iron oxide bearing, sandy Karatsu clay, which is unrefined and has mane inclusions. The rim has been cut in the shape of a hissen (brush washer - the shape prevents a brush placed on the rim to roll off).

The thinly thrown body is covered with the typical transparent Karatsu type of ash glaze. Under the glaze is a decoration in iron oxide representing some foliage on the one side and a three dot mon of the Nakasato family...

A nice and lovely porcelain jarlet with underglaze Cobalt blue "Lotus" decoration.The base unglazed. Ming Dynasy, Jiajing Period ( 1522 - 1566 ). Jingdezhen ware. H : 7,3 cm. Condition: A firing crack around the body ( please look the enlargements ).

Made from all Keyaki hardwood with dramatic, gorgeous graining seen throughout. Two large sliding front panels of beautiful swirling natural burl patterns. Unique Antique Indian bed from the Bastar area. Beautifully rustic solid teak wood. Carved details along the sides and head. Supported by large rounded teak posts. Very well hand-crafted, robust and strong original bastar bed. Late 19th century.

Distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of little iron bearing, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body, trimmed with a potters knife (hera) is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxide inside and outside. Here it is a rarely seen dark brown due to a lack of manganese.

A window on the side has been left unglazed for decoration in iron oxide engobe under a clear ash glaze in a form of straight and wavy lines. This is a typical Momoyama design...

A Chinese Famille Rose Bowl. Decorated with peonies growing in a jardiniere and with various precious objects. Yongzheng-Qianlong C1735/45. Diameter: 19.4 cm.Condition: excellent,no chips, cracks or restoration.

A Fine Quality Chinese Imari Jar. Decorated with a continuous Lotus scroll. C1720/30. Height: excluding wood cover, 6 7/8" (17.6 cm). Condition: excellent, no frits, chips, cracks or restoration. Wood cover not included.

Cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine unrefined Mino clay. Style (trimmed mouth, very controlled glaze) make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical white, feldspatic Shino glaze which has been poured and under which a decoration of brush strokes has been applied in iron oxide (oni ita) representing grass and fences.

Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed...
