Saucer bowl with under-glaze blue decoration of a bird on a flowering twig, silky chocolate-coloured glaze to the outside. Yongzheng or early Qianlong period, first part of the 18th century. Diameter "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: glaze bubble and a hairline (cf. pics).
This early 20th century Chinese ceramic carved white brush holder is 5 ¼” high and 3 ¾” in diameter. It depicts a tiger standing on top of mountain surround by far away mountains, pine trees and bamboo. There are peony and small chrysanthemums beneath the tiger and a lucky bat is flying on the top. The seal of the maker, Chen Guo Zhi, is carved on the bottom. Chen Guo Zhi (1821~1861) was a well known artist...

The top decorated with different geometric ornaments as spirals, waves, swastika etc. Used for weighing gold dust which for centuries was the currency of the region. Important mask of Mahakala, with a fierce expression, his forehead surmounted by a sort of diadem sustaining a range of tiny skulls . Finely embossed iron, with detailed features, and polychrome pigments to enhance some of the mask parts (eyes, teeth, skulls). A thin textile of red colour is affixed to the inside of the mask, probably to protect the dancer's face. Tibet, early 19th century.Height: 24 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

Antique Indian white marble figure of Garuda in youthful human form, cobras wrapped around neck, shoulders, arms and encircling his head like a crown, hands clasped over the head of a giant cobra, losses of wings and lower portion of body, 16th/17th century.
This 19th century dark red water jar has the same function as water dropper. It is a necessary tool when writing or drawing. It is 2 ½ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches in diameter at its widest. The bottom is unglazed and it is in good condition.

A fine Kakiemion dish painted in sometsuke style with a Fuyo-de pattern with four landscape vignettes in European style adapted from a Delft original attributed to Fredrick van Frytom (see image no 6) which in turn provided elements of the so-called Deshima or Scheveningen with contrasting panels of stylised Peonies, Botan karakusa. A central motif of wreath form composed of Pomegranates...

The saddle seat is Leather and decorated with small tuffs of wool yarn and strips of flat metal (presumed low grade silver) which are embed into the leather in an ornate geometric design.
I replaced the tie which secured the front of the seat to the metal saddle tree...the original cord was literally falling apart...Limited research indicates this saddle was from Rajastan India.
A small porcelain iron red overglaze water coup decorated with dragons set among scrolling clouds. The iron red style was developed in the Ming dynasty and in the Qing various styles were expanded. Additionally, with the continuity of the literati tradition, various objects were being produced and one was the water coup which is essential in producing ink for calligraphy. The water coup contains an inscription reading Da qing xiangfeng nian xin. (1851-1861).
