This early 20th century carved ivory Buddha statue (Japanese called Hotai) is 6 ¼ inches tall, 3 ¾ inches wide and 3 ¼ inches in depth. The whole statue was carved from one solid ivory tusk. The left hand of the Buddha is holding a small fan; his right hand is resting on his knee. He wears a twisted necklace and earrings and has a big smile on his face. This is not like a traditional Buddha image; it is more of an off center imagination from the artist...

There is a date to indicate it was made during second year of ¡°Zhi De¡±(757 A.D.) of the Tang Dynasty. The old coin style base (stand) is cast iron and was made to fit the stele later. This early 20th century Japanese ivory netsuke is 1 7/8 inches tall and 1 3/8 inches wide. It depicts an old sage holding a wine cup. A frog and a gourd are beside him. It is signed ¡°Gyokushi¡± and is in great condition.

This pair of enameled glass brush holders carries a wild geese and grass design. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. They came in blue brocade fitted boxes. Both have a ¡°Qian Long¡± (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. Near the date mark there is a red wax seal which indicates they were exported from mainland China. The color and the design are great. Both are in perfect condition.

This Chinese Ming Dynasty (1368~1615) bronze temple guardian is 14 ½ inches tall. The four characters on chest read ¡°pass to the heavenly gate¡±. The weapon he carried is missing. It is in good condition.

Early 20th century Chinese fine famille-rose vase is 8 ½ inches tall and 4 ¾ inches on the widest part. It depicts five children playing. It has a Qian Long mark on the bottom. However, we assume the mark is fictitious. It is beautifully painted and in good condition except for a tiny flaw on the rim.
