A pale celadon (off-white) Chinese jade of a cat reclining on a single, slightly curved leaf. The back of the leaf is carved with the leaf's venation. It is a delicate piece that has a hole carved at the top of the leaf enabling it to be used as a pendant. Size: L.5cm, W.3cm.

Interesting pair of Coptic carvings, one shaped as a Cross, the other rectangular with bulls-eye decoration.

Asa (hemp) baby's kimono with hand-painted pine tree motif whose wefts as well as warps are hand-plied. It has se-mamori in the back which is a charm with silk threads and this one is boy's kimono as they are in the left as well as in the center (girl's one is in the right). Chinese agate carving of a curled lotus leaf. The leaf is delicately and thinly carved and is edged in pierced flowers and vines. The agate stone has natural siena and russet tone areas throughout. Comes with original tripod wood stand.

A Chinese “Master of the Rocks” Saucer Dish, Kangxi, late 17th century. Typically, the decoration relies heavily on the techniques of contemporary ink painters with attention to naturalistic detail and various wet brush effects. The border of waterweed-like fronds appears on many such Master of the Rocks ceramics. The back is entirely plain.

Approximately 13.8cm diameter. There is one very shallow chip on the rim, noted in the photographs, otherwise perfect.

Japanese green studio crackle ware vase with applied silver floral motifs. With tomobako. The foot is signed Shofu Katei (1870-1928). Small wear losses.

Shofu Katei was born in 1870 in Seto, Japan. He later moved to Kyoto where has was adopted into the prestigious Shofu family kiln to create Japanese ceramics. In 1908, he set up the Shofu Ceramics Company, Ltd. and was awarded a Green Ribbon in 1915.
