Chinese stone Seal mark with inscriptions. 4,5cm high.

A large flat bottom blue and white porcelain washer from Qing Dynasty. Over all good condition with a very tiny chip at the inside edge of the rim, and a few minor kiln flaws on the glaze. Diameter: 9-5/8"; height: 3". Provenance: from the Collection of C. Philip Cardeiro .

Later Qing dynasty “Zisha” Yixing incense burner. It is preserved intact, with traces of soot, use and wear. In inscription 心淘 (Digging Inside of the heart) was carved by a craftsman or collector in a conspicuous place. The meaning implies: Remove the bad, leave the good and sincere or like rice, removing the husk to leave its essence. Dimensions 18 cm long 13 cm wide 8 cm high

Hardwood Nuo mask, big and heavy, representing an unidentified character with a very serene expression. Coat of red lacquering on plaster, long gone around mouth and nose (the red color is generally used to indicate courage, loyalty and devotion).

Antique wedding blanket, circa late 19th CE/early 20th CE, from the Bouyi/Buyi (possibly Zhuang) China. This is tightly woven in three panels, from very fine handspun cotton thread with a silk floss yarn supplementary weft “well” pattern. The black cotton lattice gives the overall pattern depth. Antique Chinese, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), large, blue, and white, porcelain charger or bowl, Swatow Zhangzhou ware. The exterior is hand painted in cobalt blue with abstract swirling designs on crackled ground and heavily glazed and adorned in the center with a happiness symbol within an unglazed stacking ring. The stacking ring prevents the plate from sticking to the other plate during the firing in the kiln...

Carving made from the root section of a bamboo stalk, with the tell-tale circular markings on the back of the head and back of the garment. A general, possibly Guanyu, sitting on a elevation or dais with a closed folding fan in the hand. China, Qing dynasty, 19th century.
