Small cast bronze incense burner. Ding (tripod) shape. Beautiful casting and neat finish. The sobriety of the decor and the perfection of the volumes giving this small creation a powerful yet elegant appearance suggest that it is a very old censer, probably from the Song period. An excellent very old patina stained with verdigris in places would be compatible with this earlier period. Height 82mm. Fine condition.

Offered is a lovely and rare Chinese porcelain octagonal saucer, dating to the Kangxi period, circa 1720. It measures about 4 3/8 inches or 11 cm across. While octagonal saucers with this general pattern of panels and blooms are sometimes seen, they are typically in white with the pattern in blue. A padlock is part of the lot. Hand-threaded rods and nuts allow the installation of fittings on the furniture. Very rare lacquered wooden box, inlay of the "hundred precious items" type. The decoration represents sages and animals in a landscape, antiquity and friezes of stylized dragons. The inlays are mainly in mother-of-pearl, but also in stone, steatite and above all a superb lapis lazuli of a rare blue stained with green, details are in sculpted cinnabar lacquer and also inlaid, others are in tinted bone and horn, and finally details are painted with gold powder.
