As in a hidden look, the erotic motifs were only revealed when turning over the bronze plates.
They were well cast in solid form and were preserved in a latter-lade linen wood box.

Pair of Rare Chinese Sui / Early Tang Dynasty Pottery Ladies

These fine and very rare pottery ladies were made during either the Sui Dynasty (AD 581 - 518) or the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). They are made from a fine-grained grey pottery and are particularly well-detailed; note the detail of the faces, the hairstyle, the folds of the clothing with the very long sleeves. Traces of the original "cold painted" surface pigment remain.

A removable Chinese travel hat stand. Cut in the shape of two interlocking Lingzhi. Carved in a beautiful hardwood with a very fine grain. Good cabinetwork finish. Simple object but very elegant and rare. Beautiful antique patina of the wood. Difficult to date exactly in the Qing period. The carved overlay glass snuff bottle is an early 20th century product. The red over clear glass snuff bottle is 2 ¾” high, 1 5/8” wide and 3/4” thick. Both sides have the same design which depicts a blossom tree. It has a light carnelian cap which is a later replacement. It is in great condition.

A very beautiful green funerary vase potted from earthenware. It is slightly heavy as there is earth harden on the inside of the vase, due to the long period of burial. The center part of the body appears to be molded in two parts and probably lute together by a clay liquid slip that acted like glue. Little attention was given to the finishing of the lute line, which exhibited as protruded line on the surface. There are crack lines on the body

However I do not see any wear that a moving part would have necessarily left traces and the jewel is well balanced so...

Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Saddled Horse

This pottery model of a saddled horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a reddish pottery. The horse stands alert with its head head up. The surface has been "cold painted" in a reddish-brown pigment with details picked out in red, black and white pigments.

Height 28 cm. It is in good condition with any possible repairs having been performed to a professional standard.

Chinese Rose Canton porcelain serving dish with scenes of courtly life and nature, the outside is decorated with pink and oranges flowers, 19th century. Size 11" wide, 1.75" high.

A rare and beautiful, flattened form bamboo box with cover, probably used as a seal paste or brush washer. It is carved out from the root part of bamboo and nicely polished. Inside the lid a compass (no longer functioning). Qing, 18–19th cent. H 3 cm, D 7,5 cm. Condition: Over-all fine, and really good, old patina, but with small chip to lid.

Circa 1900, Chinese export enamel trough planter with floral scenes in rock garden on a custom wood stand. The glaze on the exterior ground is a lovely pale turquoise, while the interior is a darker contrasting turquoise. The rim features fret key pattern in a vibrant translucent royal blue and the metal trim is silver which has darkened over time. In excellent condition, the planter measures 8" long, 5.5" wide, and 2.5" high. On stand measures just under 3.5".
